I used to work in GeroPsych and every night the Looney Tunes theme would run through my head. Still does with some patients.

For the really bad days, Dead Skunk by Loudon Wainwright III. "Take a whiff on me that ain't no rose, roll up your window and hold your nose, you don't have to look and you don't have to see, 'cause you can feel it in your olfactory..."

When I worked on a mental health unit, we used to think of tunes that would be humorous to put on the unit's telephone system for when people were put on hold. A few I recall: Crazy by Patsy Cline; Lithium Sun by Sting; Voices (I Hear Voices) by Chris Young, People Are Strange by the Doors; They're Coming to Take Me Away by Napoleon XIV.

1- Wise Up- Aimee Mann

For the acute on chronic pancreatitis in bed 6:"it's not going to stop 'til you wise up"

2- Rehab - Amy Winehouse

For many, many patients: "and I say 'no, no, no'"

3- I Fought the Law - The Clash

For the police-dog bite in Fasttrack and the man with taser electrodes in his face (ouch): "And the Law won"

4- You Can't Always Get What You Want - The Rolling Stones

For the seeker being escorted off property

5- As Is - Ani Difranco

For my new co-worker who is still killing herself trying to be nice:"so give up and admit you're an a------, you would be in some good company"

6-Suspicious Minds - Elvis

For the paranoid BPD in the psych cell and his co-dependent girlfriend

7- I Hate Everyone - Get Set Go

For me after that shift ;):"I hate most everybody, but most of all I hate you"

8- Breakable - Ingrid Michaelson

This is my real theme song, as it reminds me of the reasons that I wake up and do it everyday, and why at the end of the day I love my job:

"And we are so fragile,

And our cracking bones make noise,

And we are just breakable, breakable,

Breakable girls and boys"

I love your list and actually have a playlist on my iPod named "Going to Work" that has several of the songs you mentioned. I would add the following:

The Freaks Come Out At Night by Whodini

"And nine times out of ten they drive you nuts"

Insane in the Membrane by Cypress Hill

"Who you tryin' to get crazy with ese?

Don't you know I'm loco?"

Head Like a Hole by Nine Inch Nails

"I'd rather die than give you control"

Lunatic Fringe by Red Rider

"'Cause you got to blame someone for your own confusion"

Another Brick in the Wall by Pink Floyd

"We don't need no education

We dont need no thought control"

That's all I got for now...but I'm sure more will come to mind on my way to work tonight...LOL

The EP to my nursing career so far consists of:

Welcome to my nightmare -Alice cooper

Over my head-the fray

Basket case- green day

Ireland's call-Celtic thunder

Walking on sunshine-don't remember who wrote it.

Abbreviated list. Changes every so often. Some were mentioned.

On my way to work:

"Beast Mode" - B.O.B - Song just gets you amped especially the for first 5 hours where I barely got time to think. Love the quote "I am as loyal as loyalty is when it's gave, dedicated, determined, dependable, yes I committed myself to this game"

"Can't Trust 'Em" - Dizzy Wright - Same as above, just gets me ready to go.

"Hustle Hard" - Ace Hood

"Goodbye" - Slaughterhouse, pretty sad song, but deals with the one of the tougher aspects of our job at times - helping families say goodbye.

After Work:

"Fight for Your Right" - Beastie Boys, especially when I'm getting a few days off lol

Sorry, but I am a HUGE hip-hop head so that's where my favorites come from. And no I don't consider most of the garbage you hear on the radio hip-hop, but that's for another time lol

Recently, Pink Floyd's "Learning to Fly."

The occasion is learning to fly,

Condition grounded, but determined to try.

Can't keep my mind from the circling sky,

Tied up and twisted, juts an earthbound misfit, I.

One of my favorite songs!!! Wanted to get a quote tattoo with the lyrics

On the way to work: Light it Up-Fall Out Boy(gets me pumped up) ac/dc-Thunderstruck (same reason)

On way home: Move B%$@#-Ludicris so I can get home
