I honestly believe that most people don't know what their getting themselves into when they try to pursue a career in nursing. Like seriously!
Today, I asked my closest friend why she wants to be a nurse (she's pre-nursing with me) and she said, "Because of the money, the hot male nurses, and because I like babies".
Lol, she also wants to get her CNA license next spring because she witnessed the birth of her neice and an actual CNA woman who helped "deliver the baby" told her she could be that in just 3 to 5 weeks. I really just wished that woman would've told her that she'll first probably end up working in a nursing home until then some. So now my friend is saving up to become one.
I'm not going to tell her the truth about nursing though, only because she's a grown woman and is capable of making her own decisions and learning about nursing on her own like I had to.
Although, I am secretly steering her to get her ADN first before she goes in debt trying to get her BSN, blindly.

Oh my God, I'm not alone! I've dreaded going to the closest Taco Bell drive through for the past year because they hired one of those 'baby talking' high pitched teen girls. She makes me want to tear my ears off! Her voice can't be real, I think she is trying to imitate Marilyn Monroe but is failing miserably.

Well, I guess that excludes me. I can't refrain from either one of those two activities for long enough to attend a meeting. Unless you're going to include the ADHDers too - then the meetings should be pretty quick and maybe I can white knuckle my way through.

I have a sister-in-law who has one of those high-pitched irritating voices . . . . . . I cringe when she speaks. People can change their voices . . . why don't they?

I am a MYOB kinda person. Person is a competent adult. Her reasons/motivation and where she goes to school is none of our business.
People usually get the wakeup call somewhere in nursing school as to what nursing is about. If they don't, well, they will in their first job.
Either way, it's none of my business and I don't care to sort out the reasons why a person becomes a nurse and whether they "Get it" or not, until they are working at my side.
