I confess to back pedaling into Trump territory when I wanted to leave discussions about him in the garbage can. My thread on the read-only break room site has 9,600 replies so I thought I'd bring up a new one.
He's not going away.
Haberman's book is out based on interviews. I won't read it, but the excerpts are interesting. Especially what he says about McConnell, a description that's against the Terms of Service here, but I actually don't disagree with. LOL
Quote“At one point, Trump made a candid admission that was as jarring as it was ultimately unsurprising. ‘The question I get asked more than any other question: “If you had it to do again, would you have done it?”’Trump said of running for president. ‘The answer is, yeah, I think so. Because here’s the way I look at it. I have so many rich friends and nobody knows who they are.’ … Reflecting on the meaning of having been president of the United States, his first impulse was not to mention public service, or what he felt he’d accomplished, only that it appeared to be a vehicle for fame, and that many experiences were only worth having if someone else envied them.”

Another one bites the dust.
QuoteTrump has been known to cycle through a host of lawyers in his various legal entanglements, at times issuing major shake-ups in his representation at key moments.
Trump changed up his legal team in Georgia hours before he surrendered on criminal charges related to alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election, and he similarly did so in Florida hours after he was indicted there on charges over alleged mishandling of classified documents.

QuoteJudge Lewis A. Kaplan told the former president that his right to be present at the trial will be revoked if he remains disruptive. After an initial warning, Carroll's lawyer said Trump could still be heard making remarks to his lawyers, including "it is a witch hunt" and "it really is a con job.”
"Mr. Trump, I hope I don't have to consider excluding you from the trial,” Kaplan said in an exchange after the jury was excused for lunch, adding: "I understand you're probably very eager for me to do that.”
"I would love it,” the Republican presidential front-runner shot back, shrugging as he sat between lawyers Alina Habba and Michael Madaio at the defense table.
"I know you would. You just can't control yourself in these circumstances, apparently,” Kaplan responded.
"You can't either,” Trump muttered
Trump is a walking and talking spectacle.
A real estate expert telling you the same things I have about Trump's "fraud" case in NY.

Oh boy. That is some of Trump's "non-liquid gold" right there. The determination that Trump engaged in fraud was made in September. Trump was embarrassing himself in the courtroom where the penalty is going to be levied.
Do you think that Trump doesn't know that the common way to describe a non liquid is to use the term solid? He seemed really pleased, like that time that he discovered that US spells us as well as signifying our country.

Not buyin' it.
The speaker had a point, right up to the point where he claimed that nobody lost money on trump's shenanigans. Those overvalued properties, as well as trump's own lifestyle. suck up significant local resources financed by local taxpayers. He and his bankers need to help pay those bills.
The dividing line between perfectly legit tax avoidance and illegal tax evasion that harms the people around you, is a tricky one.
