I confess to back pedaling into Trump territory when I wanted to leave discussions about him in the garbage can. My thread on the read-only break room site has 9,600 replies so I thought I'd bring up a new one.
He's not going away.
Haberman's book is out based on interviews. I won't read it, but the excerpts are interesting. Especially what he says about McConnell, a description that's against the Terms of Service here, but I actually don't disagree with. LOL
Quote“At one point, Trump made a candid admission that was as jarring as it was ultimately unsurprising. ‘The question I get asked more than any other question: “If you had it to do again, would you have done it?”’Trump said of running for president. ‘The answer is, yeah, I think so. Because here’s the way I look at it. I have so many rich friends and nobody knows who they are.’ … Reflecting on the meaning of having been president of the United States, his first impulse was not to mention public service, or what he felt he’d accomplished, only that it appeared to be a vehicle for fame, and that many experiences were only worth having if someone else envied them.”

You were the one who then wanted to pursue that subject.
I guess just asking one question to clarify a the generalized descriptive of "a mess" is the same as pursuing the subject in the era of Trump where mental illness is ignored to worry over and exaggerate the mundane.

Sounds like just a rousing chorus of don'tlookoverthere.
Alternatively, a transient episode of pickme syndrome, maybe?
Anyway, I, too, would like to hear more about this mess of which tweety speaks. I just checked the Biden thread ... no mention in recent posts. Will keep an eye out.

I'm sure you're well aware of the criticisms of the Biden administration, even if you don't agree with them.

We're also well aware that most of the negative and general characterizations thrown about are intentionally nonspecific and broad..."a mess"... as if it's difficult or even impossible for those who use those generalizations to articulate what makes this administration "a mess" compared to any other. If you repeat crap often enough, lots of people will wonder if the crap is true. Republicans love to create that kind of concern so that they can then use that orchestrated and nurtured concern to justify their behavior and language. Consider the right wing concern about election security as a good example of that corrupt and dangerous behavior.
I could be wrong, but I believe the "biden mess" that Tweety was referring to is the southern border. It has been for at least 3 administrations. It's also an issue in Europe and the Middle East.
And yet, congress refuses to address the issue, leaving the chief executive to patch together a response that has no chance of success. It is good to read that a great deal of fentanyl is being stopped, and that at least some migrants are being allowed to work.

Sorry, but I'm not buying that Tweety fell for "if you repeat crap often enough, people will wonder if it's true."
Most Americans know at least to some extend that this administration is failing, or is a mess. His approval rating shows it and election polling shows it. Most don't want him to run again.

Yes. Knowing that it is Congress's job to legislate immigration laws and Congress's job to fund border activities, it seems odd that we would assign blame to the president for any "mess" that exists. Unless that blame was nothing but partisan rhetoric.
We certainly can talk about immigration policy priorities of our presidents. Trump's policy featured cruelty and a small scale kidnapping of miners presented at the border. Nearly 5,000 children were separated from their family members by the Trump/Sessions zero tolerance policy and nearly 1000 were STILL unaccounted for early this year. Talk about a mess. There's a specific example right there.

Hmm ... gerrymandering context seems to be a go-to tactic for faux conservatives. Got any good text messages?

No, I'm saying that the particular talking point you refer to involves considerable editing out of relevant context in order to point the finger at Biden. See also the phony email presented as proof of corruption in the Biden impeachment hearing. Google "Byron Donalds James Biden text message".
