I confess to back pedaling into Trump territory when I wanted to leave discussions about him in the garbage can. My thread on the read-only break room site has 9,600 replies so I thought I'd bring up a new one.
He's not going away.
Haberman's book is out based on interviews. I won't read it, but the excerpts are interesting. Especially what he says about McConnell, a description that's against the Terms of Service here, but I actually don't disagree with. LOL
Quote“At one point, Trump made a candid admission that was as jarring as it was ultimately unsurprising. ‘The question I get asked more than any other question: “If you had it to do again, would you have done it?”’Trump said of running for president. ‘The answer is, yeah, I think so. Because here’s the way I look at it. I have so many rich friends and nobody knows who they are.’ … Reflecting on the meaning of having been president of the United States, his first impulse was not to mention public service, or what he felt he’d accomplished, only that it appeared to be a vehicle for fame, and that many experiences were only worth having if someone else envied them.”

Well there are TWO laws Musk appears to be violating
1. Federal Election law
18 U.S. Code § 597 - Expenditures to influence voting
Quote
Whoever makes or offers to make an expenditure to any person, either to vote or withhold his vote, or to vote for or against any candidate; and
Whoever solicits, accepts, or receives any such expenditure in consideration of his vote or the withholding of his vote—
Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both; and if the violation was willful, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.
Since Musk requires one to have registered to VOTE and vote early in PA along with signing document supporting constitution article 1+2 therefore "consideration of his vote" section violated.
2. PA Gambling "Small Games of Chance : Club Licensees & Eligible Organizations > Basic Guidance on What is Legal/Illegal
QuoteThe law authorizes club licensees and eligible organizations licensed by county treasurers to conduct small games of chance to offer the following types of gambling

Musk without county treasurer license for 5 county Philly area nor Pittsburgh so, DA is appropriate person to bring charges as DELCO and Philadelphia residents won that daily $1 million.

Why? "Must isn't running for office".
But he's politically valuable to smear.
So now it's just a smear and not election interference? Is that the sound of your goal posts moving? Team Trump shouldn't be worried about smears after their big campaign event at MSG if they don't want to look like hypocritical snowflakes, right?
Crusades said:Exactly!
Quicker and just in time for the election.
The crime was committed in an attempt to influence the election, it sounds like you think it's a political scheme to apply the law to law breakers if the law breakers are breaking laws during an election with the intent of influencing the election. Are you unable to view that situation from the side of law and order or do you only see the world through Trump tinted glasses?

QuoteDonald Trump on Monday told supporters in Georgia he is "the opposite of a Nazi,” as he responded to comparisons of his Sunday rally at Madison Square Garden to a 1939 pro-Nazi gathering at the same venue.
The former president also sought to turn criticism of his rally into a flashpoint for all Trump supporters by falsely claiming Vice President Kamala Harris is calling those who cast their ballots for him Nazis.
"The newest line from Kamala and her campaign is that anyone who isn't voting for her is a Nazi,” Trump told supporters at a rally in Georgia, a line that his Democratic rival has not actually said.
QuoteTrump seemed to be responding to those comments Monday night in Georgia, when he said his father had urged him never to describe people as Nazis or Hitler.
"He used to always say: 'Never use the word Nazi. Never use that word.’ And he'd say: 'Never use the word Hitler. Don't use that word,’” Trump said.
Referring to Democrats, Trump added: "They use that word — really, it's both words. 'He's Hitler.’ And then they say, 'He's a Nazi.’”
"I'm not a Nazi,” Trump said. "I'm the opposite of a Nazi.”
Trump also responded to Harris calling him a fascist by saying, "She's a fascist, OK? She's a fascist.”
I laughed when I heard Trump say this. It reminded me of the school yard retort; "I'm rubber and you're glue, that bounced off me and stuck to you." Trump has the emotional maturity of a 10 year old in addition to terrible judgment and un-American ideas. I wonder why that doesn't matter to republican voters.
What is Trump's secret plan with Speaker Johnson?
https://www.axios.com/2024/10/28/trump-johnson-election-secret
QuoteFormer President Trump bragged about a "little secret" between him and House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) during a rally at Madison Square Garden on Sunday, saying it will be revealed after Election Day.
Remember, fascists don't accept election results unless they are the winners.
This is a funny and acceptable way to show your Trump support, right?

DA hasn't brought any criminal charges.

Whats his "un-American " ideas?
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/oct/28/trump-fbi-security-clearance-check
QuoteDonald Trump's aides have floated the idea of granting immediate security clearances to officials in a second term and doing away with FBI background checks for appointees who might otherwise fail the process, according to a person familiar with the matter.
The plan would be intended to eliminate the risk of the former president's nominees for senior posts being subject to intrusive background investigations intended to check for criminal histories, conflicts of interest or other potential liabilities that would normally be deemed disqualifying.
I think when so many of Trump's associates and advisors are criminals who can't pass a background check, this kind of reckless nonsense seem necessary.
