I confess to back pedaling into Trump territory when I wanted to leave discussions about him in the garbage can. My thread on the read-only break room site has 9,600 replies so I thought I'd bring up a new one.
He's not going away.
Haberman's book is out based on interviews. I won't read it, but the excerpts are interesting. Especially what he says about McConnell, a description that's against the Terms of Service here, but I actually don't disagree with. LOL
Quote“At one point, Trump made a candid admission that was as jarring as it was ultimately unsurprising. ‘The question I get asked more than any other question: “If you had it to do again, would you have done it?”’Trump said of running for president. ‘The answer is, yeah, I think so. Because here’s the way I look at it. I have so many rich friends and nobody knows who they are.’ … Reflecting on the meaning of having been president of the United States, his first impulse was not to mention public service, or what he felt he’d accomplished, only that it appeared to be a vehicle for fame, and that many experiences were only worth having if someone else envied them.”

Trump seemed coherent and not mental ill at in his rally today what little I watched. He was his usual petty lying self though.
I noticed he misprounced Gavin Newsom and said Newscome, Arizona is experiencing an affordability crysick, among other mispronunciations.
He said he would eliminate all taxes on overtime. Since I work a lot of overtime I'm good with that. LOL
He endorsed Kari Lakes calling her "Border Kari Lake"
He said Harris acted nasty to him.
Mentioned George Slopadopolus.
He went on a tangent about trans athletes.
I guess his phrase is "we're going to go too big to rig".
He said Newsom wants to give all illegals mortgages, but 7 days ago he vetoed a bill.

Part of the political strategy this cycle is to take advantage of Trump's gullibility and manipulate him into saying and doing stupid things. His poor impulse control and low EQ pretty much guarantees that he will react and respond in ways which are not at all flattering for him.
We don't have any specific dates for leave do we? I took her off October 5 through 21.
Also removed her for 9/25 pre-op appointment
Is this FMLA or medical leave or are we still waiting for that?
That is top reason not to select him as what some say is the most powerful person in the world.

I think that Trump's rallies are evidence of his mental health decline.
In what you saw, did he demonstrate disorganized speech again? Pathologic lying and grandiose thinking and language would also be symptoms.
I haven't watched his speech yet. Maybe he was calm and mostly stayed in teleprompter.
Do you think that he takes anything to try to help himself? Wasn't Provigil one of the drugs that Ronnie Jackson was prescribing as white house physician?

I suspect/am hopeful that more people will realize how reckless it would be to send such a weak and emotionally unbalanced man to the White House where the SCOTUS just ruled that he would enjoy complete immunity for "official duties".
nursej22 said:He also said that he was going to move all the Haitians (who are here legally) to Venezuela.
Let's pretend that he wouldn't round up those legal immigrants and put them in detention camps while the legality of that got worked out. He might even get a few gone by the time he was forced to let them go... unless his total immunity for official duties kicked in. Then he just does as he pleases.

He didn't look drugged up and didn't appear to use a teleprompter much so today might have been one of his better days. I can't stomach him so I skipped around a lot but he didn't seem disorganized but definitely grandiose (Hispanics did the best under him of all time and he likes them or inflation never would have happened under him) and lying, but is that any different than four years ago?
I'm not defending him because I am not comfortable with his mental status and feel he's unfit to be president.
Reported today on CNN:
Biden says Trump's disparagement of Haitian immigrants is "simply wrong" and "has to stop"
QuoteFormer President Donald Trump promised "large deportations" from Springfield, Ohio, a town that has become a political flashpoint as Republicans, including his running mate Sen. JD Vance, have spread false claims about Haitian immigrants eating pets.
"We will do large deportations from Springfield, Ohio, large deportations. We're going to get these people out. We're bringing them back to Venezuela,” Trump said.
According to the city of Springfield's website, the total immigrant population is estimated at about 12,000 to 15,000 in Clark County, though it does not designate from which countries. The frequently asked questions section on its website notes that Haitian immigrants are there legally under the Immigration Parole Program.
Trump claimed "nests of bad people" are being emptied into the United States, calling it "an invasion from within.”
"They emptied their jails in Venezuela, emptied their criminals, emptied the nests. They call them 'nests of bad people.’ They're all now in the United States, and they're now taking over cities. It's like an invasion from within and we're gonna have the largest deportation in the history of our country. And we're gonna start with Springfield and Aurora,” Trump said....
Hey President Trump: Haiti and Venezuela are two different countries and cultures!
Wiki: Demographics of Venezuela
QuoteThe Venezuelan people comprise a combination of heritages, primarily Native American and European. The historically present Native American, Spanish colonists, and African slaves have all contributed to varying degrees. Later, waves of European groups (Italians, Spanish, Portuguese and Germans) migrated to Venezuela in the 20th century,...
About 51% of the population is mestizo (mixed white and indigenous); Europeans and Arabs (whites) make up 43% of the population, Africans 3.6%, Amerindian people 2%, and other races, mostly Asians, make up 1.2%.[1][2]
Pope Francis criticizes Trump and Harris and says voters must choose between 'lesser of two evils'
QuotePope Francis on Friday described the choice US voters must make in the presidential election as one between the "lesser of two evils,” deeming former President Donald Trump's anti-migrant policies and Vice President Kamala Harris' support of abortion rights as both being "against life.”
"One must choose the lesser of two evils. Who is the lesser of two evils? That lady or that gentleman? I don't know,” Francis said during a press conference on the papal plane, referring to Harris and Trump. "Everyone with a conscience should think on this and do it.”

It's pretty clear that you aren't defending him. Trump definitely does better when he feels in control and he's not actively experiencing narcissistic injury.
That was the trick with the debate. Harris to control of the debate away from Trump right away. She walked right up to him and introduced herself, walked right into his space behind his podium. He started the debate wounded, that's likely why he didn't look at her again during the debate.
Show me you're a racist without saying you're a racist. I'll go first.
QuoteHaitian community members in Springfield say they're feeling unsafe in the wake of the viral claims and Trump's debate remarks, according to the Haitian Times. One resident told the outlet said she was scared to send her niece to school and others have been keeping their children home......
The woman said her cars have been smashed and had acid thrown on them since the rumours about Haitian immigrants eating pets began.
@kamalaharris : "I'm going to actually do something really unusual and I'm going to invite you to attend one of Donald Trump's rallies because it's a really interesting thing to watch. ... And what you will also notice is that people start leaving his rallies early out of exhaustion and boredom. And I will tell you the one thing you will not hear him talk about is you."
