I confess to back pedaling into Trump territory when I wanted to leave discussions about him in the garbage can. My thread on the read-only break room site has 9,600 replies so I thought I'd bring up a new one.
He's not going away.
Haberman's book is out based on interviews. I won't read it, but the excerpts are interesting. Especially what he says about McConnell, a description that's against the Terms of Service here, but I actually don't disagree with. LOL
Quote“At one point, Trump made a candid admission that was as jarring as it was ultimately unsurprising. ‘The question I get asked more than any other question: “If you had it to do again, would you have done it?”’Trump said of running for president. ‘The answer is, yeah, I think so. Because here’s the way I look at it. I have so many rich friends and nobody knows who they are.’ … Reflecting on the meaning of having been president of the United States, his first impulse was not to mention public service, or what he felt he’d accomplished, only that it appeared to be a vehicle for fame, and that many experiences were only worth having if someone else envied them.”

Thank you. Any time this guy has to deal with pressure he defaults to this nonsense. I'm sure we should NOT be handing the nuclear codes to this guy, especially if he manages to pack the armed forces with yes-people.
Meanwhile, it's hilarious to watch Loomer and Greene fight over him. Like being in junior high again.

Trump Is Getting More Confused and Incoherent. Will the Media Say So?
QuoteDuring an event billed as a speech about the economy, Donald Trump was addled and confused, rambled incoherently, seemed strangely low-energy, and launched into bizarre non sequiturs. Yet The New York Times's initial news story made the event sound far more normal than it was. Is the press doing an adequate job of analyzing Trump's deteriorating mental state? The answer is no. We talked to former reporter Meredith Shiner—author of a recent piece for The New Republic about the successes of GOP media ref-working—who explained why the press largely fails to scrutinize Trump's mental unfitness for the presidency. Listen to this episode here.

You don't seem to realize that the absence of diversity, equity, and inclusion in our society is simply the perpetuation of our racist historical tendencies. The risk of abuse of POC is high if we put higher value in imagined risks rather than known historical risks. It's like you are pretending that we aren't a country with a violent racist history.
Of course you can make unfounded speculation in these threads. You're being silly again.
Imagined skills? That's silly.

Systemic And Structural Racism: Definitions, Examples, Health Damages, And Approaches To Dismantling
None of that specifically targets POC. It's irresponsible to confuse racism with wealth disparities and geographical location.
It's even more irresponsible to suggest that the prison system representation of POC is because of racism. It would be more responsible to determine why the representation of POC is so high and identifying what interventions can help lessen the gap.
Unless the police, judges, prosecutors are all in systemic agreement to give POC higher sentences because of the color of their skin. And willfully give non POC less sentences because of the color of their skin. All in which is illegal.

I gave you an example. I would love to hear your thoughts on it

It's almost like you have no clue about how racism works and prefer all of the racist defenses of racist outcomes and experiences to the actual history, evidence and study on the subject.

Correct. I'm not racist so I don't know how racism works.
There was systemic racism in history however there is no good example of systemic racism in present time.
Or you subscribe to the far left definition of racism? Where POC cannot be racist because they are lacking in power? LOL.
Two writers from the New York Times have authored a book titled "Lucky Loser: How Donald Trump Squandered His Father's Fortune and Created the Illusion of Success" .
There is an article in today's NYT :
I have read in accounts from former Apprentice production assistants how erratic Trump was and they had to edit footage to make him seem like he knew what he was doing. It also points out his narcissism. I only watched a snippet of one episode that that show, but it was enough to sense that he was a joke of a businessman.
