The Trump Thread

Published

I confess to back pedaling into Trump territory when I wanted to leave discussions about him in the garbage can.  My thread on the read-only break room site has 9,600 replies so I thought I'd bring up a new one.

He's not going away.

Haberman's book is out based on interviews.  I won't read it, but the excerpts are interesting.  Especially what he says about McConnell, a description that's against the Terms of Service here, but I actually don't disagree with.  LOL

Quote

“At one point, Trump made a candid admission that was as jarring as it was ultimately unsurprising. ‘The question I get asked more than any other question: “If you had it to do again, would you have done it?”’Trump said of running for president. ‘The answer is, yeah, I think so. Because here’s the way I look at it. I have so many rich friends and nobody knows who they are.’ … Reflecting on the meaning of having been president of the United States, his first impulse was not to mention public service, or what he felt he’d accomplished, only that it appeared to be a vehicle for fame, and that many experiences were only worth having if someone else envied them.”

Trump is demanding that Harris be disqualified from running because her campaign is using AI to generate images of packed rallies. He says this is election interference.

My son an active X user, sent me info re "fake AI Picture" of HarrisWalz Detroit rally showing AirForce2 just outside hanger with packed crowd in front.  Responded that I watched live that rally and I SAW plane arrive and crowd in front to great her, sent him link of rally attendee cellphone coverage showing similar viewpoint. "Your not watching it on TV live, everything is on a broadcast delay and they edit rally tape all the time" --- yet I flipped from Fox/CNN/PBS all with similar coverage being shown. "Main stream news holding back on whats really going on". Told him to get back into real life interacting face-to face instead of on a computer as I also saw # people at Philly rally in person.   Denial + delusional outcome of believing "alternate facts" and chat websites WITHOUT verification.

I wonder if all those experts in dementia diagnosing are paying attention and are as good as identifying mental illness?  His children should intervene.  He should not be President.  Wouldn't it be crazy to have two nominees that didn't win a primary?

Do you think that if Trump were unable to proceed that the GOP would go with Vance? Vance has not quite 2 years experience in the Senate.  That's it.  He isn't really qualified to be president.  There's no evidence that he can govern.  Trump would never step aside.

Vance as VP to an old man who is in clear cognitive and mental decline is a huge motivation to vote for the other ticket.  The odds are high that Trump's mental decline is going to continue to accelerate with the ongoing stress of campaigning when people might want to kill him and his crowds are small compared to his opponent. He's going to struggle in a debate with an experienced woman who is 20 years younger than him and knows how to verbally prosecute a case.  Do people feel comfortable with the idea of President Vance should the sick old guy at the top of the ticket have a mental breakdown?

I said in the past that Trump lawyer Alina Habba was looking more and more like Melania. Now her hair is blonde and she looks like Ivanka.

Weird.

Trump will never step down.

But let's just say he had a breakdown and couldn't run, republicans would not go with Vance as he's not electable and his likability factor is quite low.  They would need to go with party leadership like Haley, John Thune or a popular governor like Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin.

I wonder if the republican party would experience something like the phenomenon with Harris of they elevated Haley. The GOP House had a terrible struggle deciding on a SOTH. Do you think that the RNC under Lara Trump's guidance would come to an easy decision?

I listened to a bit of Trump's interview by Musk on the X platform.  Very odd. Trump is old and rambling and there's something off about his speech, it sounds like he's having dental problems.

It's interesting that the main stream media, even left media isn't saying the samething that you seem to be repeating regarding Trump's cognition and mental illness.

I would agree that he has narcissist traits but is not suffering from mental illness. Besides, many people who have mental illness have very successful lives. How discrimatory.

I wonder when the GOP is going to urge Trump to step down due to his "cognitive decline" ?  When will the media finally admit there is a problem?

That's right! That's what the dems did to Biden. When they couldn't deny it any longer.  I don't see the same for Trump.
