The Trump Thread

Published

I confess to back pedaling into Trump territory when I wanted to leave discussions about him in the garbage can.  My thread on the read-only break room site has 9,600 replies so I thought I'd bring up a new one.

He's not going away.

Haberman's book is out based on interviews.  I won't read it, but the excerpts are interesting.  Especially what he says about McConnell, a description that's against the Terms of Service here, but I actually don't disagree with.  LOL

Quote

“At one point, Trump made a candid admission that was as jarring as it was ultimately unsurprising. ‘The question I get asked more than any other question: “If you had it to do again, would you have done it?”’Trump said of running for president. ‘The answer is, yeah, I think so. Because here’s the way I look at it. I have so many rich friends and nobody knows who they are.’ … Reflecting on the meaning of having been president of the United States, his first impulse was not to mention public service, or what he felt he’d accomplished, only that it appeared to be a vehicle for fame, and that many experiences were only worth having if someone else envied them.”

Biden isn't as unpopular as his oppo who lost the popular vote in back to back elections.

You're just telling us your opinion about winning as a supporter of the crazy felon and fraud who wants to shape our republic to benefit himself.

I mean, You're comfortable with Trump so I'm not certain what your point is?

Obviously,  you're not certain what my point is.  I'll manage.

You may or may not be right about Trump being more unpopular.   Biden is the incumbent,  and running against the guy he beat once who like you point out ad naseum is now a convicted felon and all his other issues.  It should be a cake walk for him.  And, in the end it might be.  But, right now it sure doesn't look like it.

There's that projection again.  Trump is showing obvious mental health issues so Biden needs to be replaced.

Part of the reason that Biden is unpopular is because that's the mantra of the cult that supports the crazy guy who wants to augment or constitution to fit his corrupt wind.  That rhetoric is then repeated over and over on other media as they report on this cult phenomenon. Some of that gets diluted now as more people hear the truths about Trump and less about Trump's Biden BS as we near the election.

You know who is really really unpopular outside of his cult?  That's right, Trump is shedding support like a snake sheds it's skin.  I don't think that Trump's crazy and nonsensical rants about sharks and boats to a crowd meeting in a desert (for example) is going to expand his voting base.  Maybe you do.

Nah... if both of the candidates are old and one of them is also crazy, it should be the crazy one who drops out.  It's a mystery as to why that isn't obvious.

People who are mentally ill can still lead sucesfull lives. Are you marginalizing people with mental health?

You're a retired NICU transport specialty doesn't give you the credentials to ascertain that Trump is mentally ill.

Just like my Geriactric nursing credentials do not give me the ability to diagnose Bidens dementia.

People with dementia can live quality lives when they have appropriate care and family support. Bidens entire cabinet is in willing denial and his family subjects him to abuse for power. At the cost of an entire nation.

The people can see with their own eyes and hear Bidenb speak. No amount of deflective propaganda can change that.

I'd rather have a capable menalky I'll person driving the car than a demented old man who thinks the gas pedal is the break.

Lets talk after June 27th 9PM ET Presidential Debate on CNN - moderated by Jake Tapper and Dana Bash, both experienced moderators.

To qualify for participation, candidates must fulfill the requirements outlined in Article II, Section 1 of the Constitution of the United States; file a Statement of Candidacy with the Federal Election Commission; a candidate's name must appear on a sufficient number of state ballots to reach the 270 electoral vote threshold to win the presidency prior to the eligibility deadline; agree to accept the rules and format of the debate; and receive at least 15% in four separate national polls of registered or likely voters that meet CNN's standards for reporting.

That's why you won't see Robert Kennedy JR as only listed on ballot in 16 states as of June 4th, 2024.

That's correct, it should be a cake walk when one of the candidates literally tried to overthrow the 2020 election results and plans to transform our government into something other than what it currently is should he be elected.  It's rather stunning that so many Americans want to put that guy back in power.  I mean, he failed the biggest test of his presidency before he tried to break our government.

You are also correct that what happens in November may have little in common with the current polling. I think you'll agree that the June polling didn't March the election outcome in 2016, right?

It's only June.  You're going to hear lots more about Trump's felony convictions and other legal liabilities before we get to November.

Sure, some mentally ill individuals can live "successful lives" and some can't.  Are you putting words in my mouth or just accusing me of something? I'm talking specifically about Trump, in case that went over your head.

You don't have any idea what my credentialing or experience encompasses. I presented the expert observations and analysis of a psychiatrist with a specialty in this type of illness relative to Trump's obvious symptoms.  If you had training in psych nursing you would be able to see them too, unless you are in denial or a Trumpian delusion. (Did you know that delusion can be shared?)

You are correct, people can see and hear for themselves that the guy you call demented can speak to people in a personable way and give cogent speeches on a very busy schedule.  The propaganda does, however, affect overall perception because propaganda works.

You'd rather let the guy who intentionally tried to drive the car off the cliff the last time you let him drive take the wheel. That doesn't seem smart to me.   Since that last drive his mechanics have been taking the lug nuts off the tires while they tell the passengers that the old guy is going to crash them. You're going to go with them? That old guy took control of the car from the crazy guy in 2020 and has managed to keep the car rolling down the road since then. The people who rank drivers said that the old guy is in the top 20 best drivers in the history of driving and the crazy guy is in the bottom handful of the worst drivers ever.  What a clever analogy.

I am happy to see inflation down, including food and gas, unemployment rates steady, and violent crime rates down. And American troops have stayed out of Ukraine and Gaza. I think that is all pretty remarkable.

And all of this without singing the praises of Hannibal Lector, a fictional, serial killer/cannibal.

Biden claims he served with Lector in WWII, and despite them hanging together in Alabama for a brief time, even once while on their way to a SnoopDog concert they gave up their seat to Rosa Parks, he says Hanibal is not a good person.
