I confess to back pedaling into Trump territory when I wanted to leave discussions about him in the garbage can. My thread on the read-only break room site has 9,600 replies so I thought I'd bring up a new one.
He's not going away.
Haberman's book is out based on interviews. I won't read it, but the excerpts are interesting. Especially what he says about McConnell, a description that's against the Terms of Service here, but I actually don't disagree with. LOL
Quote“At one point, Trump made a candid admission that was as jarring as it was ultimately unsurprising. ‘The question I get asked more than any other question: “If you had it to do again, would you have done it?”’Trump said of running for president. ‘The answer is, yeah, I think so. Because here’s the way I look at it. I have so many rich friends and nobody knows who they are.’ … Reflecting on the meaning of having been president of the United States, his first impulse was not to mention public service, or what he felt he’d accomplished, only that it appeared to be a vehicle for fame, and that many experiences were only worth having if someone else envied them.”

Written by conservative Tom Nichols in The Atlantic:
QuoteWorse, the people who once managed Trump's cognitive and emotional issues are gone, never to return. A second Trump White House will be staffed with the bottom of the barrel—the opportunists and hangers-on willing to work for a reprehensible man. His Oval Office will be empty of responsible and experienced public servants if the day comes when someone has to explain to him why war might be about to erupt on the Korean peninsula or why the Russian or Chinese nuclear forces have gone on alert, and he starts talking about frying sharks with boat batteries.
The 45th president is deeply unwell. It is long past time for Americans, including those in public life, to recognize his inability to serve as the 47th.

If you all truly believe that, you should be doing what you can to get Biden to not run.
You can defend him, throw knives at Trump, berate and shame Trump voters in a discussion forum, argue about who is more mentally unwell, etc. The bottom line however, for whatever reasons even if you don't agree, Biden is a very unpopular president. The polls suggest it's tight. Many people, including those who voted for Biden last time, consider it a toss-up on who is better or worse. It's all going to come down to turnout in a few swing states.
So, if the world is going to end with a Trump presidency (like it was supposed to the first time) you all need to be screaming to have Joe replaced with someone who has a better chance.

So the Democratic party is forcing you to support former President Whackadoodle? Aww, that must be so tough for you.

There's that projection again. Trump is showing obvious mental health issues so Biden needs to be replaced.
Part of the reason that Biden is unpopular is because that's the mantra of the cult that supports the crazy guy who wants to augment or constitution to fit his corrupt wind. That rhetoric is then repeated over and over on other media as they report on this cult phenomenon. Some of that gets diluted now as more people hear the truths about Trump and less about Trump's Biden BS as we near the election.
You know who is really really unpopular outside of his cult? That's right, Trump is shedding support like a snake sheds it's skin. I don't think that Trump's crazy and nonsensical rants about sharks and boats to a crowd meeting in a desert (for example) is going to expand his voting base. Maybe you do.
Nah... if both of the candidates are old and one of them is also crazy, it should be the crazy one who drops out. It's a mystery as to why that isn't obvious.

That's not the point. There are independents and unsatisfied Biden voters and who aren't crazy about Harris who will take over at some point, who are willing to take a chance on Trump or just not vote. They could easily be swayed to vote for Newsome or the like over Trump.

For whatever reasons you want to believe Biden is unpopular, the bottom line is that he is.
I'm just telling what I think gives the Democrats the best chance to win. If your comfortable that it's Biden, so be it.
Searched my memory, don't remember any FORMER President daily denegrating a CURRENT President and some news media repeating LIES as truth. That's what has affected President Bidens popularity rating while
3/11/24: United States produces more crude oil than any country, ever
THE EMPLOYMENT S ITUATION — M AY 2024
Both the unemployment rate, at 4.0 percent, and the number of unemployed people, at 6.6 million, changed little in May. Among the major worker groups, the unemployment rates for adult men (3.8 percent), adult women (3.4 percent), teenagers (12.3 percent), Whites (3.5 percent), Blacks (6.1 percent), Asians (3.1 percent), and Hispanics (5.0 percent)
The average pay raise employees can expect in 2024: 4%
The Biden administration has far less turnover than Trump. The stability of Biden's cabinet and sub-cabinet is a marked departure from his predecessor.
The Biden-versus-Trump economy: Who did better on inflation, jobs, gasoline prices and more?
Medicare: Saving money with the prescription drug law yearly Part D out-of-pocket costs will be capped at $2,000, starting in 2025. Insulin capped $35.00/month.
Reasons many satisfied with Biden as candidate: stability, progress and better finances as my bank, annuity and stock statements show.

Have you compared your finances vs what inflation has been under Biden?
You should also consider most of Biden's trillion dollar spending bill hasn't been spent. If it does get spent, the "transitory inflation" will continue.

Biden isn't as unpopular as his oppo who lost the popular vote in back to back elections.
You're just telling us your opinion about winning as a supporter of the crazy felon and fraud who wants to shape our republic to benefit himself.
I mean, You're comfortable with Trump so I'm not certain what your point is?
