Just a bit ago the top three threads involved:
1.I have a DWI. Can I be a nurse?
2.I am stupid. Can I be a nurse?
3.If it takes me five times to pass NCLEX, Can I be nurse.
Not much left to add. Says it all.
Not a mod, nor a mod warning, just a "Please don't get the thread that I soooooo love closed by the people that are mods!!!" We've had a few of these amazing threads, and when people start linking, that's when they get shut down. And then we have to start a new thread. And that draws attention. Then we have to deal with 3 pages of people popping in just to tell us how mean and unprofessional we all are before we can get on to the pure fun part of the thread. I just want to stick with the good thing we've got going! :)
wooh, you're so mean!!!
Old.Timer, no offense, but your last post was just rude. Are vet techs in the same profession as nurses? No. But, believe it or not, they help the vet with interventions in caring for an animal. Animals get the same ailments as humans a lot of the times and for the most part (with some exceptions) are treated the same way. If you compare, vet=doctor; vet tech=nurse in animal world. Plus, like someone else said above, in some other countries vet techs are called vet nurses. You don't like when people degrade nursing/nurses; don't do it to other people/professions. And, yes I am about to graduate from NURSING school. If you want respect, earn it. Otherwise, don't be surprised when people mock/disrespect you.

Sorry, Have to disagree on this one. I have family in the UK who are qualified veterinary nurses. I've looked at their course of study and qualifing time. It wasn't a cake walk. Factor in their patients are non-verbal and multi-specied.
There is a big difference between the school kid behind the counter at the vets and a wll educated tech/nurse.
