I traditionally have a thread heading to the election, here we go.
Get out the popcorn for this one.
QuoteFlorida Gov. Ron DeSantis is expected to formally announce next week he is running for president in 2024, NBC News reported Thursday, citing two sources familiar with the matter.
The governor's official entry into the Republican primary field will put him head-to-head with former President Donald Trump, the party's current frontrunner for the nomination. Trump has already spent months treating DeSantis as his primary campaign rival, thrashing him with torrents of criticism over his gubernatorial record, his political skills and his personality.

So I'm supposed to believe that you are going to live in Colorado but vote in Pennsylvania elections in November without evidence? That's a big ask. We all know that is illegal and both states participate in ERIC, but OK.
Maybe you're just pulling our collective leg.

Beerman does not meet PA requirements. Heritage Foundation Voter Fraud database lists PA convictions for Fraudulent Use Of Absentee Ballots,
I've registered and not using absentee ballot.
With another post, you did remind me to apply for a mail ballot. Thank you.
I'm not sure yet to have mailed directly to me, or to a friend in PA. The application implies you can have it mailed to a out of state "vavation home". Or, maybe I'll "move" there on Oct 1 for awhile.
I'm also still considering voting in CO. A few ballot measures I'm interested in. And as mentioned in another post, Harris winning may not be the worse thing in the long run. Assuming we can survive the first two years.

Believe what you want. I'm currently in my Colorado vacation home. And, it's much easier these days to not have to show up in person to vote.
Why are you concerned?

I responded to your post, too. I did so because I was curious about your motivation for posting such a comment.
If you are compliant with PA election laws and want to vote by mail, then so what? Vaya con dios and watch your mailbox. Why ask anonymous posters on a nursing site about the PA timeline for mailing out the ballots? A simple trip to your county website would answer your question in mere minutes.
If you're not in compliance with PA election laws, then why discuss the fraud on a public forum? Seems kind of stupid to me. The only explanation I could come up with is that it's some sort of sting operation so you could bring it up in the inevitable "stolen election" discussions that will erupt after Harris wins.

I think you are correct. I think he's pulling our leg trying make some anecdotal argument about how easy it is to commit election fraud.
First time voting in PA, needs to bring proof of identity and residency; first time in-person voting bring photo ID. Most voter registration here is done at our driver license centers proficient in checking identity.

That is correct. A passport and bank account work. Your link above is what the DMV requires. The register to vote is more lenient. You're supposed to show a bank statement, but I happen to know that a check from a bank account with the check holder's PA address will do.

No need to rent a place. I've already registered. The application for mail in ballot asks your residency address and where to send the ballot. It asks you to indicate if that address is "vacation home, temporary address, etc." And, the passport will work as ID.
In future elections, I don't even need to show an ID. Or if someone shows up and uses my name, and my A-fib like signature (who knows if that matters) they're good to go.

It sounds like you are going to vote in PA instead of Colorado then. Maybe I should register and vote from my address in Michigan. That would certainly make my vote count more. There's still time!
Wait! Edited to add that NEB just reminded me that I have an address in Florida too since my parents died. Woot! I have several voting options.
Thanks Beerman for introducing me to the possibility that this is doable. I never would have considered it without your example.

I know the likelihood of someone stealing your identity and signature to vote isn't zero but it that really a concern of yours? Do you think that mail in voting shouldn't be allowed because the possibility the person on the ballot isn't the one voting? Is your preference for voting in PA because you want to vote for their issues rather than Colorado?
A republican official in Ohio forged his father's signature and then himself voted.
I know here snowbirds sometimes vote here in Florida. I know it's hard to detect them voting here and their home state. In 2020 they investigated closely for fraud and they found three residents of the Villages (a republican stronghold here) and one in Miami that voted twice. Some reports didn't say who they voted for but others said at least two voted for Trump.
Still after an intensive search finding four cases isn't all that impressive which is why DeSantis has declared us having the best voting system in the country.
I know that voter fraud is possible and everything possible should be done to prevent it because human beings suck. Still, I'm not believing that voter fraud is a huge problem, never mind that Democrats in several states rigged the election.
