I'm starting nursing school in August. I bought the "ultimate nursing bag" which is a great little back except that it only has one strap. I know the future holds several sore neck muscles and shoulders. And most bags that go on your back with two straps aren't big enough to hold everything that we need to. I'm considering the.......
ROLLING BACKPACK
Any thoughts?
are you kidding me? rolling backpacks rock! i just finished first semster, i started out with a regular backpack, but 1/2 way through i had to go with the rolling. it is awesome, sturdy and pink. alot of students came with the rolling, but those of us who didn't soon converted. by the end of the semester, you were in the minority if you didn't have one.
Personally, I have no use for a rolling backpack. Maybe I'll regret this statement later, but as of this moment I don't think so.My classes are in ONE classroom in ONE building which is steps away from the parking lot. I don't see myself taking every one of the $1,000 worth of books back and forth to classes. This is my situation and know everyone isn't as fortunate.
I'm lucky like you, all classes one room/one building right next to where i park
So, I plan on sticking with my nice and durable canvas backpack from kakaduimports.com, that I love.
I hope I don't have to get a rolling backpack (is it still called a backpack if you don't carry it on your back ). I don't plan on taking all my books to every class. I will see once I start school though. What do people do if it snows? I can't imagine trying to drag one through the snow
Does anyone have a rolly backpack from LL Bean? I was thinking of buying one from there because all the other things I've gotten have been great but no experience with backpacks. They are kind of expensive ~$70 but if it holds up really well it will be worth it.Thanks!
Jessica
I had an LL Bean backpack before the ones with wheels came out, and it was great. If I needed one, I'd have no hesitation in getting a rolly backpack from there (though the Zuca bag with the wheels designed for going up and down stairs and curbs would be a temptation!
I have a question........what do you guys carry in the backpack? I almost NEVER see a need to consult the text during class (unless specifically directed because our lecture notes are word for word). I'm just curious because it seems like I'm missing out on something. I might get a roller backpack just for the heck of it cause yall seem like your having sooo much fun. LOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!

I have a similar method.
I have a smaller binder that in it I keep the syllabus and calendar.
The only notes I keep are the notes for the upcoming test and then anything we have started on for the following test. Once I take the test I remove the notes from that test and place them in a large binder at home. At the end of the year everything is then in a massive binder.
So I only carry the next test information and then anything that we happen to gather that would go on the test after that...assuming the section ends and there might be a lecture before we take the test and that lecture is actually on the next test.
When they say look at pg?? I write it down. There's no time in class to do it.
