Tarrant County Fall 2011 Applicants

Published

Hello,

I'm applying to the fall nursing program in January. I'm super excited but I still have some unanswered questions. I tried calling the Nursing Dept at the South Campus and left a message but have not heard a response.

I'm trying to find out what teas version they are testing with in the spring for fall entry. I have read tons of threads from TCC for the past few semesters and it is nice to start a new one for nursing hopefuls like me.

I'm taking Micro in the fall and getting a math class knocked out for BSN. Anyway, hope to get some responses.

Tomorrow is my first day off work in awhile so I'm finally going to get stuff done! TB skin test, patches/ name tag ordering, and figuring out the CPR class. I'm nervous about getting that done in time! ... Eeee! Lol

I have everything else done and ready to turn in.. Like medical insurance, photo, etc.

And my birthday is on Thursday! Yay! Lol I'm loving the month of June!

Imd are you doing your CPR through the school in August? I signed up and am taking it on the Monday that they are offering it.

There is movement on the WC alternates list, yeah Sherri, you are one step closer. I hope you are called next!

I'M going to go talk to them tomorrow and ask if there is spots open!

I went up to WC today and took my drug test proof of payment and my post card from the state board, an hour later she called me. She was out to lunch when I came by around 1:30. FYI: They are in the student services building right now, while they do some work on their regular building.

Ugh! Every single time (which has only been 3 times during this entire app period) I call TCC nursing, they are so RUDE! I am really hoping I did not make a mistake by choosing them. I pray that the program is not a reflection of the people who are working in the nursing deaprtment....although I don't see how it couldn't be.

I have had that same experience. Sometimes I feel like I am really bothering them when I call, and then sometimes they are so kind and helpful. Maybe they are stressed over this move. I know I hate moving. I have also felt like I am bothering them when I go up there to drop things off and ask a question.

Have a great day everyone.

They really can be pretty rude and just all around not helpful at all. Oh well. I'm sure we will run into this many times during our careers as student nurses and RN's. I just think as students who are trying to make sure they have all of their T's crossed and I's dotted, they could offer up some patience and helpful information when asked. It's their job to answer our questions about our packets, uniforms, and what not. Oh well, I just need to shake it off.

On a good note, one of my friends was accepted from the alternate list yesterday! Wooo!!!

I guess I have gotten lucky and I hope that I don't come across the rude person anytime soon.

Yay on your friend getting called, I'm sure that she is so happy. When I passed by last week they told me that a lot of people had not turned in their acceptance form.

Specializes in Oncology.

I wonder when class schedules will be posted? I know I read 2-3 weeks after the Acceptance deadline... just wondering how we will know when they're up.

I haven't come across any rude people at TCC either. I just went this morning to drop off some paperwork and they were friendly as always. I'm sure being bombarded with students constantly gets pretty annoying, so when I go in, I really try to make an effort to ask how their day is going and all of that. They seem to be nicer when I do.

I just bought a few of the books that were listed. Which book are y'all getting for the NCLEX study?

I have a book that is NCLEX flash cards. It is pretty good, but I plan on getting a couple different books. I will post the name when I get home and look at the book. Which books did you get? I plan on looking for some books tonight.
