Hello,
I'm applying to the fall nursing program in January. I'm super excited but I still have some unanswered questions. I tried calling the Nursing Dept at the South Campus and left a message but have not heard a response.
I'm trying to find out what teas version they are testing with in the spring for fall entry. I have read tons of threads from TCC for the past few semesters and it is nice to start a new one for nursing hopefuls like me.
I'm taking Micro in the fall and getting a math class knocked out for BSN. Anyway, hope to get some responses.
I plan on purchasing the package deal. It comes with the actual books and an e-copy. I compared the cost of the package with purchasing the books through Barnes and Noble and they were close in price. So, I figured it would be nice to have both versions. The only books I have been buying are reference books.
It's official, I will be joining you guys at TCC in the Fall! I was accepted to both TCC and WC, and after a super tough time trying to decide which school to go to, I rescinded my acceptance at WC this morning. Logistically, it just makes more sense to stick with TCC.
Now that the stress of making a decision is over, I can finally start getting excited about starting Nursing School on August 29th!!! :)
Ab- I don't think the package deal is a bad idea. I mean getting the books electronically as well the hard copy sounds wonderful to me. I personally feel that 355 is not expensive compared to the price of one A&P textbook. Plus, I have friends who are in the program now that say sometimes you might think you are saving but you miss the online component and access codes when you go the cheaper route.
Dreamer- congratulations on your decision to join us. You wil save tons of money on gas and maintenance on your car. It is the best decision in your case. I'm positive that wc is a great school but I'm sure TCC is right there with it. Welcome to our group officially
I will most likely be purchasing the packaged deal as well. I've never used an e-book before, but after viewing the online tutorial, I am curious to give them a try. I'm sure I could probably save some money by searching around online for just the books, but then I wouldn't have the e-book or online components to go with it. I figured I could give it a try this semester, and if it just isn't for me, I don't have to go that route again next semester.
Congrats to everyone.
The e-books came 2 semesters after I started nursing school but have not heard one complaint from the people who purchased the package.
Excited to hear how everyone likes the new campus. I have to say I am a bit jealous but glad I am done with nursing school. If ever anyone has any questions I can try to answer them. I can help with book suggestions, teacher suggestions, and so forth.
I also wanted to make a suggestion to get involved in the TNSA. It is a great organization where you meet great people and have lots of great oppotrunities. I made some very good friends being a TNSA member as well as a board member for 2 semesters. It looks great on a resume. I was the only one in my graduating class to be a board member and was told in several interviews that being active in the TNSA with volunteering and board activities was a plus.

I really haven't done all that much. I still have a long list of things to do. Unfortunately I am covering for someone at work all week so I can't do anything this week.
I've purchased my books online. I thought the package deal was for e-books only. I'm just going to stick to mostly the old-fashioned books. I went to amazon, cheapbooks, barnes and noble online to purchase mine. I'm really excited!! I can't wait to get some things done next week!!!
