  1. Congrats guys on getting into the program! I'm from the fall thread and am about to take my last 2 finals in my first semester of the program! It is very tough and time consuming, but definitely rewarding. If yall have any questions whatsoever simply ask.. as we have all been in your shoes!! Good luck and congrats again!!
  2. I can't believe we are all almost done with the semester! It went by so fast! I have M theory 8-11:50 and plaza clinical T/TH 1-7. Sue I think I have the same schedule as you! Congrats Pina!
  3. I'm so excited for all of you applying for spring semester! I just finished my 2nd week of nursing school with TCC's program and it's been great! Although I'm exhausted already, it's definitely an amazing experience. The skills lab with all the machines and maniquens is definitely amazing to work with.. everything is very new and very high technology wise. For instance, today I got to listen to a dummies pulse, BP, heart, and lung sounds. The professor can set it on different speeds and issues so it's very neat to work with those different situations before going to any hospital. Plus they actually talk/cough/vomit to you! It's pretty amazing and you guys will be impressed! Best of luck to everyone. Let us know if you need any help (us girls on the fall 2011 thread are good resources!)
  4. The reading is insane! I'm hanging in there.. but like you.. not sure about how much has actually soaked in! I'm focusing the most of the med math because that has the ability to get you kicked out!.. and then I'll solely focus on theory exams.
  5. Did everyone have a great first day of classes?! My day was my short theory day.. so far so good! :) Tomorrow is my long clinical day but I am still eager. I hope everyone has been doing great today!!
  6. I haven't gotten one yet either so suggestions would be greatly appreciated! :) We should only really need it for theory/skills. My friend said you barely bring anything to clinical and I normal shoulder bag is fine for that. Most clinical work is done at home prior to actually going to the hospital... According to her.
  7. Rajah- yeah,... The frustrations were probably just because it was the first day for everything but I was cussin myself for taking it on the first day at that moment. Lol but I am glad I got it over with early. Caity- I have theory mon/wed 2:15-4something with mckinney!
  8. Oh, don't worry about it at all! I didn't mean to write that to scare you... I was just that "you're a grunt" treatment and they way he answered questions. You WILL be just fine, I promise. I didn't buy that guide either, and you definitely don't need it! They will teach you... And my frustrations might just have been because it was their first day to teach it too. Everyone that I know of passed without any problems. It's not bad at all and you will definitely be fine! :) A lot of my frustrations were because of attitude issues.. And the way he answered my questions. And you're class will have an option, or we got asked at least, if we wanted a lunch break or not. We, of course, opted out of lunch and went straight through it! I was walking out at 1pm! So no worries there either!
  9. But good note... my classes finally showed up on campus cruiser!!! So that makes me so much more excited for monday!!! :)
  10. I went on Tuesday and had to walk down the stairs off belknap and then go through the glass double doors and up the elevators back to street level to that room. It wasn't bad though because there was a girl at the bottom of the stairs helping people. My CPR class instructors were very mean.. At least the male was. I was very upset with how he treated our class. I hope that y'all have different instructors and don't have to go through the insanity I did! I'm just ready for Monday!!
  11. It was so great to meet y'all! I was scared and overwhelmed at first, but meeting you guys and having everyone around so supporting of eachother helped so much! Thanks for everything and I hope we do all still communicate and celebrate our peaks!! :)
  12. I looked in the sitting area near elevators and didn't see y'all!.. maybe I get the wrong one.. I'm sitting waiting in the orientation room now
  13. I was hoping to get the parking pass done tomorrow too but I can't because I'm not able to register yet. I hope they comment about the IDs tomorrow and whether or not they are new for nursing students. I'm going for comfort. Nice jeans, nice shirt, and a cardigan if I get cold. I also work in slacks everyday but would like comfort tomorrow! I'm also bringing my binder that has my CIDs in them along with scratch paper. Don't forget to bring your receipt for the skills pack of supplies (the $100 one)!!!!
  14. Ps- my friend got to tour the new campus for a special thing and said it's unbelievable!!!
  15. How cool is it that this time last year we were dying to be a nursing student and now, a year later, we are about to go to orientation!! I know I'm a dork... But this makes me extemely happy and excited! Can't wait to meet y'all tomorrow! Sitting area by the elevators?
