Texas Tech RN-BSN (Spring and Fall 2013)
Has anyone heard anything about Fall 2013 admission?

NCLEX pass/fail and GN status
Ok I guess there is no truth to this. Friend #1, cut off at 75, good pop up and GN status stayed=passed the NCLEX officially. Friend #2, cut off at 115, good pop up, GN status was gone=passed the NCLEX officially. Yea! They both passed.

Pending Deficiency GA BON
msmack, you are right. When I applied in Feb. they did have us fill it out again. Jweb-- let us know what the BON says!

NCLEX pass/fail and GN status
Ok one of my friend's GN is gone and she is getting the good popup, the other's is still showing her GN and she is ALSO getting the good popup. So, not sure if the GN removal is really an indicator. We will see when they get the official results. I will be sure to post back here. I don't take mine until June 18th. It seems so far away, I feel like I should have scheduled it sooner?!

Pending Deficiency GA BON
Is it a norm in your state to wait that late to apply and do background check? Maybe the background check is not complete yet? I am in Texas and just graduated and we did our fingerprints/background prior to getting in to nursing school, as soon as we found out we got in they had us do it. Then we had to apply to the BON this past February. I hope that it is an easy fix for you and that you get your ATT soon!

NCLEX pass/fail and GN status
Ok thanks. We are in Texas. It listed us as GN's the same day we got our ATT from Pearsonvue. I checked her status right after she finished and it was there, but now it is gone.

Support pumping one another up for the NCLEX-RN!
I am still working on my Hurst online videos. I have also been doing Kaplan and Hurst questions.

NCLEX pass/fail and GN status
I was just wondering.....if you take your NCLEX is there any correlation between passing and failing and your GN status being removed off the BON. I heard that it is removed off the BON website pretty quick, but I didn't know if it did that either way. My friend took the NCLEX today and her GN is gone from the BON. She isn't home yet to do the PVT. Thanks

Weatherford college fall 2013 adn
Emass, I know the wait is excruciating, but do not give up hope. Like I said before there ARE people who get in at orientation! So, be sure to go. I have several friends who did get in about lunch time at orientation. Lets say there is 10 people on alternate list on day of orientation and you are spot #3. If they first 2 people don't come, then you are bumped up to #1. I have seen this happen. I really hope you get called before then though! There was also one semester where they called someone 3 days before school started because someone dropped at the last minute.

I am taking mine on June 18th in Waco, TX. I am doing Hurst online, Hurst review book and questions, Kaplan questions, Kaplan Q trainers, LaCharity, Pdf review, NCLEX 3500 online questions. If anyone has any suggestions let me know. I was considering buying the Kaplan Q bank($350), do you think I should? Anyways, lets keep each other motivated!!

Sorry, I wrote a whole long reply and it got deleted. So, lets try this again. Print the power-points the instructors provide before class, take notes on them, highlight the things they emphasize. Read the chapters in the book and/or study guide if that class has one. It is a learning curve, learning how to answer "nursing" questions. You have to think differently. I then would use my notes and info from book and study list(some instructors provide a test blueprint/study list"guide") to make my own study guide and note cards. The hardest part for me was balancing all of the things you have to do. I am super organized and I am a good time manager. I do not care who you are. There will never be enough time! You will always want/need more time to study, do a paper, do paperwork for clinicals, practice for a skills checkoff, etc. Get a big calendar or white board for home that you can do 30-60 days on. Write down everything!!! every quiz, assignment due, test, clinical, class. It WILL help you stay sane. I also input tests etc into my I-phone calendar and I have a organizer/calendar. I "color-coded"/highlighted each class. Most instructors will give you all of your due dates the first week of class. Put this all down and get organized first thing! Pharmacology was tough because you have to learn so many drugs/drug classes and how they work in the body in such a small amount of time. I even had a pharmacy background. 4th semester med-surg was also tough. FYI: In the 1st and 3rd semester there will be a math exam. You get 2 attempts for each one, you must make a 90 or higher. If you fail the second time, you are dismissed from the program. This happened to several of the 3rd semester students this year. It is all about drug calculations, drip rates for IV's, etc. There is a book "Calculating with confidence" is all about Med/nursing math. Get it now and study this summer. That way you won't be panicking when you go the first day and they say, oh BTW the math test is in a few weeks. Also, FOLLOW WC's rounding rules to a T!!! If you do not round correctly, it is wrong. That is where a lot of people mess up. They do provide these for every test, including the tests in each class. Usually there is a few math on most tests. I am more than willing to answer any Q's ya'll have or help out if you need it. I know from experience how stressful it can be.
