Tarrant County Fall 2011 Applicants

Published

Hello,

I'm applying to the fall nursing program in January. I'm super excited but I still have some unanswered questions. I tried calling the Nursing Dept at the South Campus and left a message but have not heard a response.

I'm trying to find out what teas version they are testing with in the spring for fall entry. I have read tons of threads from TCC for the past few semesters and it is nice to start a new one for nursing hopefuls like me.

I'm taking Micro in the fall and getting a math class knocked out for BSN. Anyway, hope to get some responses.

so sorry Pina. I thought your chances were great and just like everyone else. Have you called them?

Aren't they closed on Fridays now?

Pina-I was also rejected last semester and was accepted this semester to two schools! Keep your head up and stay positive.

Apparently, I need another MMR vaccine. Do most DR's offices have those or do I need to go to the health department? Not sure why my second dose doesn't count.

I had to have one due to the fact that when I was in HS, the required boosters were still administered individually, and somehow i didn't get or at least don't have a record of having the mumps booster, if it was even required.

I'm sorry Pina, keep on trying you will get there, don't give up.

I'm sorry pina! Keep your head high though!... You can do this!!

You can go to the health department for the shots and it's much cheaper!.. Same with titers! I have to get my tetorifice and TB test so I'll probably do it there. I did my background check and trying to get all m other stuff together to turn in.

I got my MMR, last Hep B, and tetorifice at Hugley's mobile clinic on Monday. I was visiting my parents in Burleson and picking up my vaccine records. Called the unit and they were IN BURLESON on Monday and I had 20 minutes to get there and get my shots. $87.00 total cost. Not sure what the Health Dept would have charged, but they only come to W'ford once a month and I didn't want to wait.

I am soooooo sorry for you too Pina.......I'm sure you will get in next time!

I turned my acceptance letter in yesterday.....now we are off to the beach for a week! Florida here we come!!! When I get back I will start on that LONG list of things to get done for nursing school! Can't wait to meet all of you guys soon.....

Where is everyone located... I am on the Grand Prairie/Mansfield border by Joe Pool Lake.... was just wondering if any of us were near each other :-)

At the health department in Tarrant County the charge is $20 per shot. I have had my Hep B's, Tdap, and an MMR and they were all $20 each. So can you do titers at the health department?

Yes. I did my Varicella (Chicken Pox) titer at the Tarrant County Health Department. I want to say it was at least $40 or $50, but I can't remember the exact price. It's somewhere towards the beginning of the thread, though.

I just found the post studentCL, it was $41 for my Varicella titer

Thanks so much!! I have to go get one. It wasn't required for WC with a parent's signature but that won't cut it for TCC. How long did it take to get the result of it? Do you remember?
