Tarrant County Fall 2011 Applicants

Published

Hello,

I'm applying to the fall nursing program in January. I'm super excited but I still have some unanswered questions. I tried calling the Nursing Dept at the South Campus and left a message but have not heard a response.

I'm trying to find out what teas version they are testing with in the spring for fall entry. I have read tons of threads from TCC for the past few semesters and it is nice to start a new one for nursing hopefuls like me.

I'm taking Micro in the fall and getting a math class knocked out for BSN. Anyway, hope to get some responses.

Specializes in Oncology.

As far as the student ID's, I was told they are working on making the ones for us a different color, and would add the word "Nursing" or "Nursing Student" somewhere on the ID. The last time I had a TCC ID was back in like 2004, so I don't even know what the current ones look like.

When I ordered my nametags today, I asked if they would be ordered soon, or if they had to wait and place one big order all at once. She said mine would be ordered before the end of business today and she should have them in one week. I can't believe how long you've waited to get yours!! You're a lot more patient with them than I would've been! LOL!!

I think I got my nametags within a week.

I need to get the last few things done on my list. I still have to purchase another set of scrubs, and have the patches sewn on. I will go tomorrow and pay for th enursing kit, and drugscreen. I went to do that yestarday, and forgot the papers. Business services said they could not charge me without the papers.

I am stressing because on top of tuition and everything else I am paying for, my daughter has to get her tonsils out before school starts. UGhh!

I also got my nametags in about a week. I ordered mine through the TR campus.

Thanks Ab for mentioning that about having to take the papers with you to pay for the drug screen! I would probably have left them at home!!

I haven't heard that they are doing tours right now. I do know that when they do the "Rock-N-Enroll" they give campus tours. That should be coming up within the next few weeks.

ordered my name tag last tuesday from trinity river and picked it up today. so 7 days

Dang! You guys are making me super jealous over these name tags! It seems like everything always goes wrong for me or at least more complicated for me.. lol story of my life.. They swore it would be in next week for me. And if it's not then I'm going to get a refund and go order with Trinity bookstore. This is getting a little ridiculous.

I did go to the TR campus today for my first time inside! I was quite impressed. It is so modern and gorgeous inside compared to the other two TCC campuses I've been to.. or even UTA and OU! I am so excited to think about having a brand new campus to start school in!!!! :)

I bought all 3 of the CID's today while there plus a pen light and badge puller. I am getting more and more excited about starting!! All I have left is to pay for the drug screening, sew my patches on, and buy 2 more books. Whew.

I got the cherokee scrubs too. I thought they fit me pretty good besides they were a lot cheaper than the others. I also got my books first thing this morning at TR bookstore. I asked one of the girls that work there if they knew anything about parking in the other building and she said that from what they have told them, we won't have parking space there which means we'll have to park at TR and walk to the other building which is a couple of blocks away. She also said that TCC may have shuttles but wasn't too sure about it.

I guess the school will explain better during our Orientation Session. Not too excited about the parking situation. Exercise time or I may need to buy me a bicycle :)

If we have to walk, we will all be sweaty until it cools off a little.

I did pay for my drugscreen this morning, and nursing kit. I plan on being at the clinic for my drugscreen first thing Monday morning.

Wow...no parking? That's pretty poor planning on their part. I hope they have something in mind for us. Walking in the heat and rain doesn't really sound like much fun, especially with the 20lbs of hair I have on my head.

Or the 50lbs of books we have to lug around. What is that parking lot next to the building for? Just faculty? I would hope they will at least have a shuttle for us. I guess this will be a good question for orientation.

I took my drugscreen today, and was told that they will not collect them until all of us have taken them. I am so ready to register.

ab, were you the first person in there? Maybe I saw you :)

Also, name tags are in at the South campus bookstore.
