Tarrant County Fall 2011 Applicants

Published

Hello,

I'm applying to the fall nursing program in January. I'm super excited but I still have some unanswered questions. I tried calling the Nursing Dept at the South Campus and left a message but have not heard a response.

I'm trying to find out what teas version they are testing with in the spring for fall entry. I have read tons of threads from TCC for the past few semesters and it is nice to start a new one for nursing hopefuls like me.

I'm taking Micro in the fall and getting a math class knocked out for BSN. Anyway, hope to get some responses.

and apparently they are having a universal problem with the name tags.. so if anyone ordered around my time, you might be experiencing the same thing! sorry :(

The skills CID is not available at the bookstore yet. They said they hope to have them by the end of the month. I did get to pick up my book package.

Anyone know if the shoes that we have to buy can have a little bit of a different color?example; around the Nike check

I don't like this part, buying scrubs or shoes. What a pain!

I bought some shoes through work, and they are solid white. I wanted to be on the safe side. They are not very stylish though. I guess I can get cute shoes when I graduate. :)

Saucony Women's Grid Cohesion 4 LE Walking Shoe

I got those shoes for Nursing School (Weatherford). They are VERY comfortable and don't look too ugly. I have a lot of tennis shoes, and Saucony is by far the most comfortable ones I own. They sell them at Amazon for $60 and a few other places. Just google them. It won't let me post the link to them. If you go with that shoe, be sure to order 1/2 size bigger than you normally wear in tennis shoes. I normally wear a 7, but they were too tight so I have ordered a 7 1/2.

Thanks for the tip Heather, I'll definitely have to check them out.

Thank you ladies. I will just play it safe and just do all white shoes.

I am also going to do all white just to be safe.

I got new balance (my favorite type of sneaker for running/walking) and the logo is blue but it's so small and in a place where my scrubs cover it up even if it was a problem. As far as I've heard, they are not terribly strict on dress code as long as the pants are teal, shirt white, and white shoes.

Got my Taber's medical dictionary delivered to me today from amazon! I will say that I'm impressed with them!.. I ordered this book wednesday night and its sitting on my lap now (all with the normal standard shipping). I'm getting nervous.. this book is THICK!! :)

I cannot flipping wait for orientation. I am so ready to get started. I just picked up my scrub tops from the embroidery place (had my patches sewn on)!!
