OK, since enrollment for Summer 2012 is close to starting, I figured I'd get the ball rolling for those of us who are taking courses this summer.

What courses are you taking? Is this your first time taking the class? When will you apply for nursing school?

I'm Taking A&P 2, psych and nutrition this summer. Nutrition and psych are online. I'll be at school 8-around 12 for 4 days a week for A&P. I have started reading the chapters that will be covered and also started studying for the TEAS. If summer school goes well I'll be able to apply to nursing school in the fall.

Am attending Jeff State taking Bio 202 and Math 100

I probably study at least 5 hours a day for my 5 week Anatomy and Physiology I class. Good luck to the people who are taking more than one class with science class O.o.

I couldn't get into A&P due to my late registration time, but I got into the following three courses:

Intro to Sociology

Lifespan Development

Philosophy - Logic

Looking forward to getting these prereqs out of the way :)

I bought my school supplies and decided to pack my bag to see how heavy it will be on the first day of school. Holy cow!!!! I think I may need to buy a bag with wheels on it or I'm going to have a huge chiropractor bill!!!!

Between the books, lab manuals and notebooks, it weighs a TON!!! And that's only the 2 classes I have that day. Looks like Fridays are the only day I'll travel light. My neck is hurting just thinking about it...LOL

I'm running over to Medical Locked Storage to buy my phlebotomy kit & lab coat tomorrow. Also, need to buy a parking pass so I don't have to pay for parking every day. The drawback of having campus in a downtown location.

My son keeps teasing me that he's just ending all his homework and mine is just beginning. He keeps saying "did you do your homework, Mom? Did you study?"....ahhh, payback!

I started my first week last week. I also worked over 60 hours last week so it was hectic.One thing that kind of annoys me is that my Chem class has a discussion session but our class has 20 people in it. A discussion session is with the same teacher. He gives us worksheets of problems to do and we work through the problems and he answers questions. It seems a bit ridiculous to me. I can work on problems on my own and utilize office hours if need be.

Anyway, we have a test on Tuesday and a large homework set due on Monday. The labs, although simple now, require a bit of work. We have to answer questions, read the lab and write up our intended procedures. We then have to take notes during the lab. And for each lab, we have to do a lab write up.

Who has already started their summer term? I'm just wondered who here is knee-deep in their summer classes already. Mine start tomorrow.

Mine started May 29th.

Same, mine started on the 29th. The teacher warned that the class will take 40 hours/week but most of that seems to be the 16 hours of class/lab per week. I spent 4 hurs yesterday doing homework, reading and lab prep. So I'm guessing his 40 hours/week estimate is a gross exaggeration but we'll see.

I start summer school tomorrow as well.. I'm taking psyc, math(online) and A&P 1. Excited and ready for the challenge!!!!
