Some parents absoulutely amaze me. Not really, just how stupid and petty and vindictive can they be. Case in point.
Parents of a 3 yo child. Bring that cute little child in for swallowing a quarter. Xray shows the quarter in the stomach. GI and the Endo lab come in. Off to endo lab. Sedated child, scoped and removed quarter. No big deal ehh. All is well. They put the quarter in a specimen jar and give it back to the parents. A souvenir I guess.
The parents in their alledged wisdom discuss with the child about swallowing foriegn objects. Wasnt foriegn though, it was an American Quarter.
The parents show the child the quarter, and let the child handle it. Yes it happened. The child immediately put it back in the mouth and promptly swallowed it.
Once had a mother who wanted her 3 year old to have an IV so she wouldn't feel hungry anymore. No matter how I tried to tell mother that wouldn't fix the hungry thing, she just couldn't get it. Stormed out of the ER yelling and screaming.
Well, Tom, I do like the fact that it was not a foreign quarter!! heeheehee
It is completely the ER's fault. If you would've given them a Canadian quater to replace that one he swallowed. I am sure this fine family would not have allowed the child to handle such a foreign object. What were you thinking?
They take their child to Wal-Mart at midnight and slap him when he cries. He is smart enough to know he's tired and wants to go to bed, they on the other hand don't get it. Too bad stupidity and fertility are not mutually exclusive. Bad parenting...it's heredity! I get really sick of dealing w/ these types all of the time. I guess while the endo lab was handy they figured they have another go round huh?
That's so true! I worked at Target while in school and you would be amazed at the little ones there at closing. Also, every time we had a lost child, the child turned out to have BOTH PARENTS in the store!
It's amazing that the majority of kids survive despite their parents. I too am amazed at children up and out at all hours of the night. Parents don't just drag their kids to walmart late at night, I have even seen entire families and parents pushing strollers down Duval St. in Key West at 2 and 3 am often stopped infront of the girls behaving very badly if you know what I mean. It's no wonder kids are so messed up these days.
