I need to take this course and none of the in person classes are working into my schedule. I'm considering taking it online. I've already taken A&P 1 and got an A (not online). I really felt I could have just read the book and gotten the same grade without the benefit of the in person lecture. Anyone have feedback on taking this course online? I'm taking A&P 2 at GCC this fall and was thinking of taking the path online during the same time. I took bio 201 and 205 this spring and did well (it was hard though!). Thanks for any input!

Just be aware that you may have to work harder because it is an online course. Really would depend upon the course and the way the instructor approaches it. But if that is your best option to get the course done, go for it.

i agree with the above post. i took it online and received a letter grade lower than i do with all of my in-person classes, which is usually the case for me with online classes.
Thanks for the info. I've decided not to take it online and will just work around the class schedule. It's a 40 minute drive to GCC for me but the class is only once a week.

I really liked having an instructor to explain concepts I didn't understand and really, just all of it in general. When they say A&P is the foundation of nursing classes, it really is! In my nursing classes, I can still hear/see my A&P instructor in my mind, which is really helpful.

fwiw, there's an instructor at mcc who posts her patho lectures on itunes. i can't find the original thread anymore, but i copied the info on getting to those lectures below. they're really informative and pull together a large amount of info you already know into something you can use. might also help in your case in preparing for the class...i wish mcc was closer to me, because i'd try to take her class in person - the instructor is a hoot. "here's your toe!"
the video versions are 200-300 megs each, so break them up if you don't have much hard disc space, i overstuffed my pc when i tried to download them all at once...
go to http://mc.maricopa.edu then search for itunes (in the top right hand corner, little white box). click the first link, the blue "mcc on itunes u". this will open on your itunes on your computer. (if you don't have it already, you'll need to download it). then the 4th box down, special programs, click on nursing. then under courses, patho 104. then you can download each movie. they are free, and totally worth your time!!

Where were you having luck finding a pathophysiology class online? I have to take it that way but really appreciate the additional resources that you all provided. I am in Texas and am not having any luck finding an online class!!
Cgolden, I'm in Phoenix, Arizona and the community colleges here offer this class online.

I personaly would not do it. It is a hard class and is seems that you are graded harder in online classes. I don't know where to take it, I would not recomend MCC either, that's where I took it.

I am taking it online this summer at SCC. I start nursing school at SCC in August so I'm trying to squeeze this class in. Where did you take it and who taught the class?

I was in the same boat, needed Pathophys, and couldnt fit it into my schedule. I took it online through GCC. It was tough, but its a tough class. My instructor supplied study guides, which were super beneficial. They took hours and hours to fill out, but if you knew that information, you were golden for the test. I enjoyed the class immensely, and think I actually learned more from the online class. Just my opinion, but I think you should go for it

I am also looking at all of my options, can you give me more info on GCC. My google search provided me with quite a few options.
Thanks,
