SCC accelerated partnership program questions
I'm in block I, SHC partnership. We have lecture Wed 8-2, Fri 8-4 and clinical on Tues 6-3 (time depends on which location you get). Test and some pre-clinicals are on Mondays. You will go to your clinical location to pick your patient out the day before clinical and write up the first part of your patient care plan, this still takes me all day. Then after your clinical you have to finish your patient care plan which takes several more hours. It is like having a full time job with lots of reading and studying, but doable. Congrats and good luck!!!

Should I take pathophysiology online?
I am taking it online this summer at SCC. I start nursing school at SCC in August so I'm trying to squeeze this class in. Where did you take it and who taught the class?

What should I brush up on before Block I classes start???
I am soooo glad the wait is finally over. I start SCC/Accelerated program in the fall. It has been so long since I have been in class, almost two years for A&P classes. Are there any current students who can give suggestions on what to brush up on prior to starting Block I in the Fall?? I would like to hit the ground running when class starts, but I'm a little nervous that I don't remember everything.... Any advise would be much appreciated.

5-6 semester wait for mcccd!!!????
I would have to say based on the number of applicants in the system the wait quoted is correct. When I put my application in there were 1600 applicants in the database. My time date stamp was Oct. 17, 2008. I was just placed in the March 23, 2010 placement. Before the placement run on 3/23/10 there where 2501 applicants in the system, this includes all nursing applicants/hospital employee nursing applicants. Placement is done by time date stamp only. As others have said gpa, net and hesi scores do not play a factor in placement. Those applicants who are more flexible and choose five programs have a better chance of getting a spot quicker. If you are dead set on a particular program you may have to wait longer. Good luck everyone!

How many semesters did YOU wait???
Good luck to you! How long have you been waiting?

Phi Theta Kappa - Haven't we all been invited?
Just curious. I am a member of PTK at PVCC. I just got a spot in the nursing program at Scottsdale Community College, do you have to transfer your membership to the new college? I think each college has their own chapter or whatever they call it. I would hate the think I spent $75 and not be able to graduate with the PTK honors because they are from another college....

How many semesters did YOU wait???
Thank you very much! I'm not sure why it wouldn't have been an option for you. If you go to the MCC student application status page Scottsdale Community College/Scottsdale Healthcare Edu. Svc. Partnership Accelerated is the very last option. Prior to the March 23rd placement 20 of the 50 spots were available to the public (non SHC employees).

How many semesters did YOU wait???
I just got into the Accelerated Scottsdale healthcare partnership (I'm not an employee). My time date stamp was Oct 17, 2008. I must have been pretty close to the top of the wait list because this was my first choice and there were only 20 spots available to the public. Good luck to everyone! I know it is a long wait, but it will be worth it in the end!!!
