Sharp New Grad Summer 2020 - August

Nurses Job Hunt

Published

Hello everyone! Sharp new grad’s application opened on Monday (2/17). I just wanted to make this so we can all keep each other updated. ?

I had applied for spring 2020, got an interview for ICU, but unfortunately did not get hired. So here I am, round 2! ?

good luck everyone!!

Oh I see, I'm a student but out of state, my school does not use this so I was super confused. Thank you

Same here bro, but I'm originally from California. IDK if they're just filtering it out to people who are local since the start date is relatively quick (I.e. Monday)?

That’s what I was thinking as well! I’m originally from California but went to nursing school in New York. I’m projected to graduate next month, but haven’t heard anything back from Sharp at all. I submitted my application a few days ago.

Haha same! Literally bored out of my mind in Chicago.. and with school being online now I find no reason to be here.

Yeah I'm in a similar position. From orange county, but in Arizona currently. Graduating in may, but since I'm all online said I was planning on coming back in May but could come back ASAP. Haven't gotten any sort of email back about this or the new grad program, other than the email containing the application for surge staffing.

...seems like mostly students have gotten hired so far...?

Yeah have any RN's been contacted? I'm curious what role we'd play. We're licensed but as new grads/inexperienced, not independent.

For all those nursing students in California graduating in May, have your clinical hours been changed to completely online?

Hello! I did receive an email on Wednesday asking about more specific availability, location preferences, etc. I am a new grad licensed CA nurse. The position from what I’ve gathered is per diem, temporary, completely as needed/last minute type shifts and seems verrrry difficult to pull off if you do not live in the area and are not able to commute etc. Seems like an excellent opportunity for those who get the chance!

Thanks for the reply. I am local but was unsure how we'd be utilized since we are licensed but not independent-yet. Was wondering if everyone will be attached to an RN as an extender. If I get any more info, I'll send as well.

I just got the email asking for more specific availability!

@Xm92 I'm sorry if my comment got lost, I'm new on all-nurses and I tagged you this time. Could you please email me the application if possible? [email protected]. Thank you so much!
