Sharp New Grad Summer 2020 - August

Nurses Job Hunt

Published

Hello everyone! Sharp new grad’s application opened on Monday (2/17). I just wanted to make this so we can all keep each other updated. ?

I had applied for spring 2020, got an interview for ICU, but unfortunately did not get hired. So here I am, round 2! ?

good luck everyone!!

@NurseRed79, BSN, RN

I'm a new grad with a CA License and only heard back yesterday with the email I received about preferences. Haven't heard anything else. Was thinking maybe they did students first? No idea though.

Yeah I didn’t get that email :/. But I did put my preference on location in my application.

Did anyone else just get a job offer today and training next week? If so, are you guys doing anything to study/prep for training? I'm kinda nervous since I've been out of the hospital for a month now!

That is good! Do you know what location you will be at and the unit? Are you a new graduate with an RN license with experience? Just trying to figure out what are they looking for?

@peach33 CONGRATS! Are you hired as RN extender? Also, If you don’t mind me asking, how is the pay?

It's a float position so they ask your preference but can really put you at any of the sharp hospitals on any unit! I'm graduating with my BSN in May! I've had a few clinicals/externships with Sharp so IDK if that interested them but they said they're mass hiring ?

@rnsd13 Thank you! Yes, RN extender and the pay is 37/hour.

Hi Guys! Thankful to have found this thread! For those who were offered an extender-RN position and start Monday what is the training? Schedule like? Is it like preceptor training or classroom etc? Curious! Also are they using licensed/new grads as 'extenders' or only non-licensed? Thanks for any info. ?

I'm an RN that graduated in 2019 but haven't worked yet. I was offered an RN position with SRS back in the Winter but unable to start due to a family emergency. I have been out of school for awhile but still a 'new grad'-- would love to help out!

Training starts Monday!

Did they say what the training is? Are you doing 12h shifts? Full time etc?

Students: Please share your “Complio profile with Sharp”

Does anyone know what this means?

Many schools use Complio to be compliant with immunizations and clearances for clinical placement/approval. So I think it's geared towards current nursing students?

Specializes in Neuro/Medical/Surgical ICU.

Is it just me or has anyone not heard back from SHARP about anything? Beginning to think I put the wrong email haha!

Specializes in Nursing.

...seems like mostly students have gotten hired so far...?
