Confused ....... I have seen that tomorrow is School Nurse's Day and I have also seen that it is May 11 ???
Wanted to see what you know ??
Either way, I will be overlooked just like in years past. I'm okay with it though because the hurt from this is long gone !
I am thankful for this awesome group of supporters. Without you, my day would suck a lot more.
HAPPY SCHOOL NURSE'S DAY EVERYONE !!
I have to admit, I'm a little butt-hurt this year. At my last job, I was spoiled with stuff for nurse's week. Now I'm at a school and completely ignored. The secretary got flowers recently for administrative professional's day and they did a whole week of stuff for the teachers which happens to be the same time as nurse's week. And I'm sitting in my "cave.":notworthy: Also, they have birthday parties for the office staff and decided to hold mine while I was gone for a meeting! I miss my old coworkers!!!! At least it's almost summer break.
So sorry, the only reason I was remembered was the PTO President is a nurse, and she spoiled my wife and I rotten. The administrators and teachers didn't know it was Nurse's Week.
Happy School Nurse Day to all of you!!! I've said it before, and I'll say it again- you all are my virtual nurse's station. AND I don't have to worry about you "writing me up" for eating at my desk- so you all may even be BETTER than a real life nurse's station.
My co-worker and I got sneaky this year. I sent an email to her staff and she sent an email to my staff letting everyone know that today is School Nurse Day. It'll be interesting to see what happens.
I was beyond shocked!! The faculty & staff dressed in scrubs for our special day. The lounge had breakfast, funny quotes about nursing, flowers, candy jar, a card with a 30 minute massage voucher, & a WONDERFUL quilted hat with Nurse ***** embroidered on it. 2nd grade team gave me a card & Starbucks gift card. The Superintendent stopped by & brought a mason jar with sweets on the inside & a special saying on top. One of the PTO mom's hand painted me a sign to hang on my door that says Nurse ******. WOW!!! I feel really special today!
So here's an update. A group of special ed teachers/ed techs from my school got me a nice card. I got a couple of emails from teachers at the junior high (I sent them an email letting them know it was School Nurse Day so they could wish THEIR nurse a happy day).
But not one teacher or admin at my school said anything to me. A few secretaries did wish me Happy School Nurse Day when I stood next to them during the fire drill yesterday.
It's about what I expected, although I do appreciate the card. At least I have you guys!!

I'm a little butthurt, too. For the same reasons.
Here is a lovely article from our own SnowyJ. Beautiful job.
We can take care of each other here.
