Rumor of a six month 200K RN position in Iraq????

My friend who's a fellow RN told me about open nursing positions in Iraq. Apparently they are so desperate for nurses there they are offering $200K for just 6 months.

Any info on this? I tried googling it but with no luck :(

I know, I know -- I just couldn't help myself.

But I DO think that working in Iraq as a nurse is a subject that almost CANNOT be discussed outside of the context of The War. I mean -- it's all about the war, "going over there," IF you feel compelled to do it, if you feel like it's a worthwhile proposition, etc. It's something that has many issues swirling around it -- and it's interesting.

I promise to refrain, but it's hard.

I agree its hard to stay on just Nursing in Iraq- when there are so many other factors involved- trust me -its a sensitive subject for me- as well as everyone. I just want to be a nurse -no matter where I guess- I want to be a Great NICU/PEDS Nurse. God will lead me where I need to go. Lets not :deadhorse[beat a dead horse]though. haha I love the icons. We can just agree to disagree. :trout: "Fish Slap calm me." LOL [50 First Dates- I'm addicted to movies] haha:p

I'm the very first to offer full support to our troops and pray for them every day but we have lost over 4,000 of our kids in this war not to mention how many innocent Iraqis have died in GEORGE W's WAR. I'm so sick and tired of hearing how our kids have been put into harms way to keep us free in this war. This war was never about protecting the freedoms we enjoy because Saddam Hussein, butcher that he was, was never a threat to us in the beginning and was not responsible for 9/11. This war is all about OIL and our kids and millions of Iraqis are dying needlessly just so Bush, Cheney and their oil baron cohorts can make millions!!! Give me a break, already!!!

the op was asking amount how much money could be made, instead it has erupted into the a war debate..no one can be able to tell what any other president would have done if they had been given the same information that was available at that time

if they are paying high wages it is because it is dangerous...if you feel that you can do good and make money at the same time then you decide what is best for you

ok just re-read what you wrote...i do believe there is a military treatment hospital in Iran..i will have to call my MIL to confirm this, but i know there are hospitals set up all over Iraq, Kuwait, Afgahnistan ect

Just and FYI... MIL is mother in law. Military people use a lot of slang and jargon. LOL I've come to find this out....
