Our staff was discussing you, our members. While we all like to remain anonymous, we are all proud of our accomplishments. We'd like to do a roll call of honor. Who has been on AN the longest? Who has been a nurse the longest? What is your greatest nursing accomplishment? Tell us, come on, brag a little! You deserve this recognition.
I've been at AN for over 15 years, since I decided to apply to nursing school. In my time here, I've gone from nursing student, to fledgling novice OB RN, to a skilled and expert L&D nurse, to getting my MSN, and my first supervisor job, then manager, and in 2 days, I start a new job in a new state as a Director of Women's and Newborn Services.
AN is so important to me. I am always grateful for the professional insight, as well as the camaraderie.
I like to think that the only reason I have not been asked to help out as a guide or moderator is because I swear too much. *******s.
Okay, I'll start.*blushes*
I've accomplished the feat of messing up the most comics here on AN.com.
Or maybe I've drawn the most messed up comics.
Maybe I'm the most messed up member?
Either way:
Anyway: Thank you. No. Please. Thank you!
Comparatively speaking I'm relatively new to AN...but in that period of time I've recognized you to certainly be the most messed up member...especially when you stir the Schlitz...but that's a good thing:yes:
I've been in public service and health care for about as long as I can remember. Most of that working with "special populations, psych, elders and intellectually disabled. Also sober since 2002 and currently working to bring about reform to the system that penalizes nurses who seek help for addiction and mental health issues.

Good topic
My biggest accomplishment is having survived the meat grinder of working with prejudiced, hateful coworkers for more than 40 years. And getting to retirement!
there have also been plenty of joys and wonderful coworkers. Somehow the negative happenings tend to stand out. I have to work on that.

Congratulations on the new role, how exciting for you.

Thank you, OldDude. I feel a certain amount of closeness and acceptance to both you and several other members on this site.
AN.com is a big part of my life, since nursing, art, education, and humor are all extremely important to me and are encompassed in being an active member.
It's funny how small happenings end up causing life changing occurrences: After a bicycle ride down the river road, had Belinda not wanted to go to a metal art shop, I wouldn't have bought my '51 Chevy pickup, I wouldn't have discovered a website for antique trucks owners which motivated me to check out nursing websites which led me to AN.com.
Is this an accomplishment? It's positive and I take pride in being a member of AN.com, so I guess this is one of my best moments.
Thank you all for being here.
I love you!
*Sob*!
The highlight of my career was attending a hospice patient, the family thanked me for my kind and calming presence.
Same here. The greatest honors I have had in nursing have been caring for patients (and their families) as they took their last breath. Especially the few who had died surrounded only by nurses because no family would come.
Also, I once received a "cheer" on AN for helping a new poster.

You live for your likes...be careful what you say, people will be haunting and hunting you down to "like" you LOL
I tend to stay calm too, it doesn't mean you don't know what is going on.
For me: been posting here for a couple years but read a lot prior to that, always appreciate the good info and laughs (although some I think were unintended)
Biggest accomplishment was being able to care for cancer and hospice patients at there most difficult times. Rewarding and heartbreaking at the same time.
