  1. if you don't have your own malpractice insurance, get it now. it an be used for attorney fees if you have to use them to fight a BON complaint.
  2. I would recommend trying to obtain malpractice insurance if you can do that quickly. If this escalates to the board and you need a lawyer for defense malpractice insurance will pay lawyer fees.It will not apply to a case that has already been opened by the BON.Most policies are around $100 per year .
  3. I always thought you didn't stop TPN because of the high glucose concentration. If it is stopped longer than a minute or so we used to get an order to hang d10 tp prevent an abrupt change in blood sugar or hypoglycemia
  4. obtain nursing malpractice insurance immediately. see if you can do a free initial consult with a lawyer who is familiar with nursing board regulations, even if its a phone or email interview.Go have a hair follicle drug tested completed. I know you might not thing you need it but believe me,if you get reported to the board you will need it.
  5. does the letter from the board have stipulations for you to be evaluated as a condition to unsuspending your license? even if it doesn't, go have a hair follicle drug test done as soon as possible.it will go back at least 3 months, longer if you have long hair.it will help disprove any idea they are trying to suggest that you took meds.this is very important. I know you're not guilty, but tread very very carefully. I know you talked to a lawyer but make sure your lawyer is very very familiar with bon proceedings; keep in mind with the bon they will try to make you prove your innocence instead of them proving your guilt.
  6. 50 in July.RN x 30 years
  7. thanks I'll take your advice.right now I'm alternating between days of feeling really sad and days of complete relief to not deal with nursing.honestly my nental health has improved 1000% not being in the rat race.working 12 hour shifts on my feet I really didn't have much of a life when not working. I was always too tired or in too much pain.
  8. I'm in NE Tennessee to.The winters are generally fairly mild will usually a handful or so of actual snowstorms.
  9. he was basically useless. I had a hard time even finding one,the first four I contacted declined because they had a prior relationship with the facility.I signed an order of agreement. it was either that and agree to their terms or appear in front of the board.I'm now trying to get a non nursing job.cant do an evaluation or testing with no job or money..especially in the middle of a pandemic.after I start working again I have to decide if I'm going to enter their monitoring program.I guess there is a chance they could say im fine and dont need to be in a program with monitoring, but I'm certainly not holding out hope on that after everything that has happened. I guess I need to decide if nursing is worth the expense and trauma of doing all this.at this time im not sure its worth it.
  10. who knows why anyone does anything?the BON is treating this the same as if it were a controlled substance.license is suspended till I completed their required testing.at this point in my life I'm not sure I even want to.
  11. I think Fauci is a little too busy at the moment to worry about slander.thats about the equivalent of bringing charges against the kid of xbox live for saying your mom is fat.
  12. I'm thinking of requesting a test but it's been 9 plus months since this happened. not once has anyone requested me to
  13. that's just it....I dont know what to do at the age of 50 with no nursing license..or I guess suspended till I'm evaluated and jump thru the hoops? I'm thinking of applying at a plasma center and at a call center that does medical related calls but is lay people so no.license.at least if I'm hired that is income while this is sorted....and then depending on if my current employer is willing to keep me on I'll look for employers that are sympathetic to people in the tnpap program..if anyone has suggestions or a list I'd love to see it
  14. well my lawyer received a reply from the bon yesterday.they are suspending my license and requesting a tnpap evaluation with 3 years of probation. I have till march 9 to reply.i dont even know what to do anymore, I feel so lost.i dont know how to proceed.does this mean I can work till march 9 or does this mean my license is now suspended? I didn't do anything, not that it matters anymore, and I'm not sure why I would have to be in a monitoring program for non narcotic medications?? I feel like my life is over.im too old to bounce back from this.
  15. just saw your post.how are you doing? you can message me if you would like.
