Go ahead, break the ice, and introduce oneself!
I guess I'll start. I'm originally from California, and have resided in Texas since late 2005. I've been an LVN since January 2006, and I currently work in the rehab section of a skilled nursing facility in Fort Worth. Since August 2006, I have earned 38 college credit hours worth of prerequisite classes to be applied toward one of several local LVN-to-RN bridge programs.
I am originally from Oklahoma City, OK, my husband and I moved to texas in Sept. of 04. I started working as Nurse Aide when I was 16, became a CNA at 18, then a medication aide at 20. At 24 I started taking my prereq at grayson county college in Jan. 05 and was excepted into the nursing program at grayson county college in fall of 06. I will graduate in may of 08. i plan on applying for an internship in ICU when I graduate. I also have 4 wonderful children.

Hello there fellow GCC'er! I graduated in May from GCC myself. I also worked in the Business Office and Communications Center for 5 years prior so I've probably seen your face! It is such a small world.
I hope school is going well for you. Just think in 5 short months you'll be an RN!
Guess its my turn..

Hi, I'm originally from New Jersey. I moved out here in August 2007. I'm still getting used to the area. Coming from a small town, I can't believe how big Texas really is. I live in the Southwest part of Fort Worth. I'm currently not working because I just had my fourth child. Any suggestions on good places to work in this area? I have experience in long term care and corrections.

Working general LTC (company transferred me from medicare rehab to LTC about 4 months ago) Eventually I want to go PN to RN and work hospice for a while, and then who knows!
Only thing I don't like is the traffic, but I miss most of it as I work 3-11 :)
