In the hospital you work for, are you able to wear any color srcub/outfit? Or is there a designated one for your department?
I found out yesterday that the hospital I did my phlebotomy internship at (and where I would eventually like to be a nurse) has color-coded all of their departments. All nurses are now wearing navy scrub pants and white tops. It's kind of confusing because that's the same thing the nursing school I'm staring in May wears.
We can wear any colors. I like http://www.Tafford.com and http://www.JackLMarcus.com for decent prices. I've had to deal with Tafford's customer service and it's been very good! hth's :)

any color, as long as it isn't a denim material...
they were talking about doing a color thing..and some depts do that...
respiratory is burgandy, PT is cecil blue...
but for nursing, you never can tell where you will be pulled, and frankly I prefer not having a set color I have to wear...

Anybody every order from Lydia's Uniforms?Personally I'm gonna stick with stuff that look more like real clothes (khaki's w/poloshirt) or stuff like this--> or
or
or maybe this
I have a hard enough time getting taken seriously as I look like a 10 year old playing dress-up in scrubs!:roll
Does anyone know a good website or catalog that carries scrubs at discounted prices?
www.allheart.com is great because of the prices and www.sassyscrubs.com is great for the patterns AND you give them your measurements and they custom make them for you, and you can get them in flannel if you like (supersoft). Its great because I am so tall I can specify how long I want them.
Just recently, our nurse manager decided that everyone (RN, PTCA, UC) in the unit should wear the same colors (khaki, navy blue. or white) to "promote unit pride". And in addition, the name of our unit is emblazoned across the back of the scrub shirt. We are the only unit that does this...so we actually stand out...I think for the wrong reason.
Now, can I throw in a pet peeve. Are people not cognizant of the fact that colored underwear shows under white pants???
This is the exact reason my nursing program reversed the old uniform of white pants and navy tops to navy pants and white tops. Everybody got tired of seeing certain people wear little hearts all over their panties! My favorite was actually the girl who had "daily" panties! Yes, an adult actually wore them with "Monday" "Tuesday", etc on them!
that is pretty rotten. i've ordered from them several times (stethoscope, scrubs) and have never had a problem. but that is an example of bad customer service.p.s. i like your name/avatar--i love spongebob.
i have experienced less than stellar service from them 75% of my 4 orders. bummer.
after waiting for over a month for my dickies small talls i wore them and washed them and realized that they were as "floodsy" as any regular i ever had before! huh? i guess they sent me the regulars or something. i also sent back two pairs of shoes that turned out not to fit, and sent them within the 30 days but, have not heard a word since december about them. ?

p.s. never ordering from them again

Ours is switching to all the nurses (RN & LPN) have to wear Navy Blue or white or a combination of the two as of June.
