  1. Thanks for the helpful information that was posted. It seems to me that North Dallas is the first choice followed by East Dallas to live. Does anyone know of good hospitals within that area??? Any reccomendations? Thanks to anyone who is willing to help!!!
  2. Hello.I have been a RN for about 2years now.My family and I are thinking about relocating to Dallas,TX. I have never been to Texas but heard it is a wonderful, family-oriented,place to stay.Does anyone have any suggestions on whereabout in Dallas is nice/family oriented. Is the housing expensive?Any great hospitals within the area, do they pay good? Thanks to everyone who is willing to help.
  3. I have reviewed those threads previously, but didnt hear any feedback on fort lauderdale. I am aware of the low pay and I think its ridiculous. and some areas of south Florida is not cheap based on area.
  4. Can anyone tell me the salaries for an enrty-level registered nurse in Boca Raton and Fort Lauderdale? I am thinking of moving down there to be closer to family. I know there is somewhat of a difference in pay between New York and Florida. Thanks
  5. I would recommend NSNA Edition 6, it's an excellent book, has alot of valuable material, I passed just reading that book
  6. I will be starting my job in March. I hope I adjust well. I am very motivated and determine to do the job right and learn. My biggest fear is being burned out but I have been finding ways to remain calm and do things on a steady pace without becoming overwhelmed, which I plan to put into practice. Its a wonderful feeling being recognized as a good nurse by others. It makes you feel that you are getting the job done and special, knowing that you have made many differences in other people's life's. Keep up the good work and good luck to everyone !

Back in nursing school, our color was royal blue. During clinicals at the hospital, transporters worn that color.

What website can you find these scrub tops? Thats a good deal
  9. I have worked at St. Rafael for 2 years as a SNT. They offered me an RN position however I turned it down. The reason is the floor I was working on I felt as if all the new nurses were getting burned out too fast. One of my friends who was there at the time was a new nurse and she became charge nurse within 6 months and she was stressed. However, she changed to night shifts and she said its wonderful. In addition, they were recruiting alot of foreign nurses. I thought also the pay wasnt all that great as well. But I can honestly say it is a great place to learn, you do see alot in that hospital.

Does anyone know a good website or catalog that carries scrubs at discounted prices?
  11. Thanks for the advice. I have a NYS Licensure. I plan to commute back and forth to New York. I decided to accept a postion in westchester day shift(yes) on a medical surgcial floor. I think once I go through orientation I should be okay.
  12. Does anyone know any feedback on St. Lawrence Hospital? Do they have any financial situations going on? Is it a great place to work, especially for new GN's?
