2015 Rn pay per hour

Published

I just want to know what is the recent 2015 RN pay per hour

Specializes in L&D.

It definitely depends where you are. Where I am at in NC, it's about 21-22. That sounds not so great, but factor in shift diffs......5$ for nights, and 10$ for weeks, and I work mainly weekends so it's not that bad!

Jackson, MS metro area...New grads are starting out between $20-21 here, + shift differential.

Specializes in Med/surg.

I am in rural Nebraska at a small hospital.

My base pay is $31.75/hr and on weekends $34.75/hr.

I also receive pretty good benefits. My takehome pay would be approximately $70-75,000 per year plus benefits.

I believe they are paying me pretty well, relatively speaking.

For what it's worth, I'm very experienced in a rural hospital setting with med/surg, outpatient, ER, swing bed, etc....a little bit of this and a little bit of that ya know.

The whole past year I worked (for considerably less) as an MDS/Care Plan nurse. I got $24.00/hr plus benefits there.

Other than that, I've ALWAYS worked in a rural hospital; before we moved, I had been at the local little hospital in our old town 15 years....before that, i was at a little hospital in a neighboring town for about 3 years.

So alot of the relatively hefty wage for podunkville is for many years experience at exactly this job. I came with pretty awesome references from my old nurse/ARNP/MD/PA buddies. I owe them for speaking highly of me and am honored that they respect and care for me as much as I do them, and I miss them deeply.

And this hospital, frankly, expects a lot. They require you to be current in ACLS, PALS, and TNCC. Out of the twenty or so nurses, about a third have CEN or CCRN certification. They run RNs only....no LPNs or aides (which is a shame as I've worked with some awesome ones).

I am extremely grateful for this job and hope to pursue more education since they seem to want this.

Large hospital in Nashville, TN I make 24.22/hr base pay. That pay is for 2 years of experience.

Specializes in Emergency Psych, ICU.

What would be the range for shift differential?

Specializes in Nephrology.

That really depends on your negotiation skills. If you aree risky you can get what you want or you can lose what's the best offer. Im having $29/hr in a rural area with one year experience here in US but I have 2 years out of the country.

In my location (Indiana), hospitals start new grads at about $23 per hour, not including shift diffs or weekends.

Specializes in cardiology.

In Austin, Tx: $27.9/hr, 5 years experience in ICU :/

Small community hospital in metro Atlanta area:

$22.50 base

$3.00 evening diff (7-11)

$4.00 night diff (11-7)

$3.00 w/e diff

New grad

I've been offered a salary of $69,279 (33.31/hr) for a graduate nurse position. When I pass the nclex and get converted to RN, it'll go up a little more, so I've been told. This is in Fresno, CA.

Specializes in Family Practice, Mental Health.

Hospital between Vallejo and Sacramento, California.

Non-Management. Just hired on new position with years of experience for a change of pace and set hours while I finish up Grad school.

$76.967/hour with all the usual included (insurance, etc).

Specializes in Psychiatry, Forensics, Addictions.

In CT, with 2 years experience I'm making $30/hour + differential
