Reflect on this! IMPORTANT!!

Ok, it's time to officially say it!

I HATE THE NCLEX-RN EXAM and its godly creators! And I think whoever implemented it is/are just sick(s) ! So that equals to "sick wanna-be gods"

It doesn't make ANY (just for the pervert sake of using the so-much-hated nclex-style bold key words that to me are not key at all!) sense that I have studied for the BSN, did great while at it and now a so-called "authority" is preventing me from working! That's sick and stupid! And then we hear things such as "oh but they are not testing your knowledge. They want to measure your critical thinking abilities". Oh please shut up! I had enough of all this crap! The world is collapsing, spilling water (ie. blood) from every possible "corner", people are dying because of the economy (suicide, murder, famine) and we are here sitting in front of a Bill Gate's or Steve Job's precious goblet to sing about what's critical????? Get up people!

If I did not pass the NCLEX-RN the second time it just means it's full of ****! And the threads about it just prove it! Thousands of people panicking and going ballistic after the exam having no-clue, no idea in the world whatsoever (!!!) if they passed or failed or just lived a dream with the connotations of a nightmare (here again having no clue as to what its substantial nature looks like!).

Then you have the morons singing and clapping their hands "I passed, I made it, I am an RN!!!". Well, excuse the **** out of me, mr and mrs RN. You think you weren't an RN already before taking the test? You needed a test to tell you that you are an RN? Oh sorry, you were just a N without a R. A simple Nurse in other words! Sorry we cannot be Nurses! So just don't let the public call us Nurses! It's an offense to all those who implemented the test! Where's their role in all this? They MUST get a percentage! And what a high one, by the way! I spent hundreds of dollars on this and I hope that whomever got my money will use it on medicines! Not kidding!

And no, I don't need nursing interventions to manage anger and lividness! I am as calm as the sick ones that implemented the test and said, "oh by the way, let's raise the passing standard again!"

I am in a great mood tonight because school is cancelled tomorrow due to crazy Antarctic, I mean Indiana weather and I am having a great time watching Orange County, The Matrix, and now I would like to watch Star Wars so thank you for that little clip of the emperor!

With that being said, I understand you are upset, but this "rant" seems to reflect your attitude. When I pass my NCLEX it won't be because I am a moron. It will be because I have done my part in learning the nursing process to be able to function as a new nurse. And when the days comes, of course I will be ecstatic that I passed my NCLEX.

Another student and I were having a conversation about positive energy and negative energy and about how it affects our well-being. Consider that and you negativity towards this test.

Good luck to you.

You would have loved the old days when they had 2 day marathons for testing.

I'll say that on my boards, there were only a handful of questions at which I guessed. Most of my questions had to do with simple things, like not killing your patient. Especially the prioritization ones. Hmm, do I go see the patient with a minor booboo or the one that's a ticking time bomb? Just saying. I feel like any safe, rational nurse can pass the NCLEX. Plus, they tell you that you've gotta pass the boards before you even get into your 'real' nursing classes. Time to reflect on the fact that you committed to taking and passing the boards, so maybe you shouldn't be so angry about a journey you willingly began.

I'm just glad my school doesn't do the HESI

No - you really wouldn't... trust me on this. It was godawful. And the waiting afterward - ugh, getting nausea flashbacks just remembering it.

Dunno why. At my school, you had to make an 850 or above on your HESI just to move onto the next class. And the people who didn't make that were the ones who weren't safe, imo. At first I thought it was harsh, but then I looked at who I wouldn't want taking care of me, and the results sort of correlated. Plus, the subjects I got under a 1000 on, were ones I went back and studied. It helps you, I think.

And the NCLEX-RN standardizing what? Sorry, I don't get it!

Also, since you're so knowledgeable could you please explain to us all here standing the mystery about nclex-rn takers not having a clue whatsoever as to whether they passed the test or not? Now, that's a big mystery! Is that part of the standardization process that you adorably mentioned?

Instant results? That would be lovely, I'm sure, but isn't possible yet. Just be thankful you didn't have to wait six weeks to find out if you passed as many of us Crusty Old Bats did!

Actually, in many ways, it wasn't that bad back in the 80's

Graduated in May, no HESI, TESI, or MESI hoops to jump through. No finger prints, no intensive background checks (that I can recall). Just filled out the paperwork in class, the school took care of the rest. 1 week prep course in June, took the Boards, a 2 day test, in July. Started my job a few weeks later, signing RNLP to my work. Worried a little about whether I passed, of course, but had attended a good school that I chose due to its high pass rates, so I didn't lose any sleep over it.

September, October, license came. While there was no almost instant gratification of results, there was also no Internet for people to share their anxieties and being exposed to the failures of others. IMHO people just focused on their own success, and not the failures of others.

Simpler times...

OK, I understand. It's not your fault. It's the fault of the test, and those who made the test. I get it...

Not to nitpick, but the word "godly" is a positive adjective, not a negative one. It is used to denote good things, like righteousness, compassion, holiness, and faithfulness. You're looking for something else, like the phrase "God complex," which is truly negative.

Hey - cut this RN a break! Anyone who has survived nursing school know's what she is talking about! You think she is ramped up - she deserves to be. She (I am assuming it is a she) got good enough grades to graduate and we have all been there with the 'critical thinking" questions that make absolutely no sense. We have 4 choices for an answer, one is usually obviously wrong and the other 3 could be justified if it weren't for "critical thinking" give us a chance to get out into the working world and let's see how well we all critically think. Just because she is ticked and is passionate enough to show it on here doesn't mean she would have a terrible bed side manner. I think it means she cares.
