Good grief. America's Frontline Doctors, a group of quacks who claim to know more than actual experts are pushing the use of ineffective parasite med to prevent and or treat COVID.
On a personal note, my hubby works for a farm store and has overheard customers explaining to each other how to dose animal wormer for people. This is in a community that is anti-mask, anti-vaccine, let's just all get infected. Up until, you know, they need hospitalization .
The problem is not with the drug...the problem is the misuse of the drug. The problem is not that people are taking ivermectin...the problem is that people are self medicating using the retail accessible veterinary preparations. There's nothing disingenuous in that discussion.
What is actually disingenuous is to lead people to believe that they can prevent or treat covid infection by ingesting ivermectin.

The only problem with your statement, and it is a major problem, is that Ivermectin has NOT been proven to be a safe and effective treatment of a Covid infection.
Bold is not the adjective I would use to describe these doctors.

I did not say that the ivermectin for humans is poisoning people. As has been pointed out, one kind is formulated for humans, another is for animals. There are reports of calls to poison control centers regarding ivermectin, but I am not aware of the numbers attributed to each formulation.

Baloney. Ivermectin is making people sick because people are taking the drug in inappropriate dosages or preparations at the advice of people practicing quackery. Do you know what it means to behave like a quack?
It means to behave as an ignorant, misinformed, or dishonest practitioner of medicine. Recommending or prescribing medications at unusual doses for unaccepted off label use fits that description.
Science demands that measurable beneficial results be demonstrated and replicated in controlled study...not what you seem to be elevating and supporting.

The article states that facebook tries to take down the covid disinformation but they are way more focused on blocking the voices which call the covidiocy what it is...ignorance, gullibility and partisan animus. The ignorance about covid and American politics is deep and wide and extremely toxic on facebook. I now stay away.

Not the part where we have millions of mentally ill sharing bizarre delusions. Unfortunately, those folks also vote. But, I am OK if they stick with their convictions and free up some much needed hospital space.
