Countless times in nursing school, I found myself in awe of her poise and patience with questions asked by myself and others. I've reached out in PM and she's researched things that were mere curiosity for me, only to help me answer a question. She's all over the place with wisdom and guidance. She adds balance to conversations that get a bit out of hand. I think I've only disagreed with an opinion of hers once, and it wasn't a failure of her own logic or mine, it was just that fundamentally, we had different ideas about something and neither of us was wrong.
And let's face it. That dog. That weimy and its seasonally appropriate costumes is the mascot of AN. ❤️
I love Esme12 ! I too have reached out to her with PM's....she was the first person I thought of when faced with a difficult ethical nursing situation I couldn't talk about with anyone else. Her experience and wisdom have been so helpful .....I am just in awe of her.
And as others have said, her Weimy pictures are the best!

I don't post often compared to some but I do read AN extensively. I stay out of the flame wars but it gets really old seeing the same garbage over and over again, from both old and new nurses. With all the various threads flying about right now I would like to stop and acknowledge a true nursing professional.
Esme12, your posts are always insightful, kind and truthful. Your words of wisdom are delivered with class and grace without glossing over the hard facts of nursing. You epitomize the ideal of the professional registered nurse.
I wish I worked with you........but on second thought, I do. I work with nurses who have decades of experience and yet are not bitter or intolerant of others. It took me a few tries to find my niche (psychiatric nursing) but now I can look forward to every day working with the "esme12's" of my unit. Thanks.
