I would argue that reminding people that they didn't care about the obvious lies or dishonesty of Trump and his sycophants after they develop a sudden need to examine the appearance of dishonesty from a Democrat is not projecting at all.  The credibility of the alarmist is very much relevant to the discussion of the alarm they raise. Trump supporters have exactly zero credibility when it comes to assessment of honesty, integrity or intent of a political figure.  It's laughable that any Trump supporter would suggest that there should be accountability for public lies spoken by a political leader. 

The culture of the GOP is centered around lies now - a glass house, if you will.  And look who is throwing stones...

The short answer is that he's a buffoon, often too inept to get out of his own way.

His claim about not running out of hospital beds was that they didn't exceed the expanded 'emergency capacity' of hospital beds, Cuomo initially told hospitals to expand bed capacity by 25% and then 50% over their licensed capacity, so what he was saying was the hospitals didn't exceed 150% of licensed capacity.  Although the number of actual beds was never the limiting factor, it was staff.  

And his comment about not needing to send hospital patients to nursing homes was referencing a NY Department of Health statement that they never had to use emergency orders to send hospitalized patients to nursing homes (effectively expanding hospital capacity into nursing homes), the patients discharged from hospitals that went to nursing homes went there because they were discharged home, and the nursing homes were their home.

I would guess his inability to just defer to the NY DOH, since all of these statements and guidance came from them, but instead chose to trip over himself misstating what had actually happened is due to some level of ineptitude combined with narcissism, not necessarily Trump level ineptitude and narcissism, but the same basic premise.  I think if Trump had just done what he said he was going to do, put the right people in the right jobs and let them do their thing, he would have been re-elected.  Instead, the person he put in the position of Covid-czar only had the qualification of being married to his daughter, and he went out of his way to undermine everyone else who actually knew what they were doing.

Cuomo as recently as a few months ago said that his nursing home order didn't matter because covid positive patients never went to nursing homes.  There never was a need for them to, because he did such an outstsnding job and so they never ran out of hospital beds, he claimed.  According to him, all of the covid brought into nursing homes was by employees and visitors.

Please, try to convince me this wasnt a flat out lie.

Actually, it was according to studies by epidemiologists that found it was staff and visitors who introduced and spread Covid through NY nursing homes.

See previous post on his statement that nursing homes weren't required to take hospitalized patients that weren't residents there, which was accurate despite how well he flubbed saying that.

Then it could be argued that all of us that were upset with Trump's lying but not giving Cuomo equal time wouldn't be deflection from the topic either. 

But I do  acknowledge what you're saying.  I think you know how I feel.  If we're talking about Biden I didn't appreciate the switch of topic to Cuomo, but since we're talking about Cuomo I don't appreciate changing the subject to Trump.  But I'm not the boss of anyone, just as always giving my opinion.  LOL

Trump is a Nazi and a traitor to this country.  All those he hired were inept and too incompetent to do their jobs correctly showing Trump to be the buffoon that he is.  However, that is how autocrats rule.  Autocrats do not hire for competence, they hire for loyalty.  So there is literally no scenario where the twice impeached complete traitor and former president, Trump, would have made an impression on the majority of this country to have given him another 4 years.  None!

I think calling him a Nazi might be giving him too much credit, I'm not sure he's necessarily capable or interested in adhering to any particular set of beliefs.   He's certainly the political figure that Nazi, fascists, and supremacists endorse, but I think that's more due to the fact that much of what he does is based on a childlike desire for the positive feedback of attention and approval.

From my perspective is not about the switch from Biden to Cuomo to Trump as much as its about the lack of authority or credibility of a Trump supporter, at all, to express concern about lying or the appearance of dishonesty now that they've lost all legislative power. Trump supporters believe and defend lies everyday yet they presume to point fingers? This is clearly the agenda of the right wing propaganda machine...better to fret over what Cuomo did or said rather than what the IMPOTUS did and said during the same time frame.
