Wow. No one has started such a thread yet?
After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days, apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.
Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week, by the end of April.

Beerman, Cuomo stated that he is taking and accepting full responsibility for the data being inaccurate. Trump has never ever admitted he made a mistake, lied, spread misinformation, or accepted responsibility for something that has gone wrong under his leadership. EVER! He even stated he did not need to be forgiven for anything by Jesus because he has never done anything to be forgiven for. The true hypocrisy of Trump supporters lays their support of Trump.
It's impossible to take a Trump supporter seriously who is suddenly concerned about lies and accountability for dishonesty. The disingenuous "conservative" concern about honesty is expected now that there's democratic control of the presidency as is a return to concern about deficits ... this is an anticipated pattern of behavior from republicans. For 4 long years they were completely incapable of discerning Trumpian lies and were comfortable explaining away all manner of falsehoods uttered by their political leadership...now suddenly we're supposed to be all excited because those poor folks have suddenly been told that a Democrat told a terrible lie and must be held accountable. We've read this book before...the plot is sophomoric and predictable.

Funny how the deflection police are never around then. LOL!
Deflection? Nope...simply noting the complete lack of consistency in your outrage or ability to discern lies based upon poliltics. Your previous disregard for honesty from elected officials and reluctance to hold Trump accountable for his clear and intentional lies certainly diminishes any credibility that you believe you have to discuss other lies from other people. That's not a deflection...that's a criticism of the intent behind your disingenuous questions about political honesty when it's clear that honesty isn't really a priority for Trump supporters.

I'm with you and that and I actually noticed and apologize because I'm the deflection police founding member. If you're talking about Cuomo it's not appropriate to talk about Trump, but I'm probably guilty of doing it because it's just so easy to criticize Republican outrage at a politician that lies while they turned a blind ear to Trump that fabricated things on a daily basis. Just too easy.
But you're right, we should stick to the topic at hand. Oh wait, it's this the Biden thread. LOL

I get that. Just like over on the blue side when I pointed out liberal hypocrisy in discussing criticism of the Trump administration. It was too easy, and often was met with cries of deflection.

I used to always believe that a brain was very similar to a computer, programming and logical instructions, until I started hanging out with republicans.
It's not even remotely like a computer! I expect everyone to have some level of hypocrisy to function. Not everything is black or white but, you guys take it to a whole other level!
You do this stuff out in the open! Blatantly! And you still expect people to just forget and treat you like another person? Is that how you guys function? You can just immediately dismiss reality in seconds? Nothing that went before actually happened? Every day is a new day, Groundhog, style?
Suppose your kids or your mother lied to you often? Can you trust them? How about when you go to the Drs or instead of the gas station attendant putting petrol in your car, he puts water instead?
Beerman, humans depend upon trust! Lies erodes trust! To rely on someone, you have to be able to trust them. That is derived from behaviors and statements!
Not being facetious, but I would love to learn that skill republicans possess. To only selectively remember what they want to justify their motives at the time.
You guys are great fun, I admit that. You never worry about consequences, you get the fun girls because you don't care about her potential for trouble, you can drink and drive and not worry that you might kill someone, you have no idea how envious I am of my friends who have no sense of responsibility or care about credibility? Except, they are frequently in trouble because they hardly ever bother to worry about the 'what ifs' and think that they can repeatedly just shrug off the consequences with lies and because they are such fun, we will always look past the bad behaviors.
Doesn't work that way my friend!

Beerman, can I ask you a simple question?
Why do you think Republicans do not want democracy?
I mean if everyone was allowed to vote, doesn't that allow majority rule? Then when the Republicans win again, they control everything! Isn't that what democracy is about?
I mean there are some Democratic regions gerrymandered and voter suppressed, don't you want those regions to allow fair and equal representation?
Why won't Republicans allow everyone to vote and the most votes wins?

Because it was deflection. As you've done here you're free to point out when others do it.
But I see your point that those crying deflection are guilty of deflection themselves.

II think at the time he and most of us were in panic mode. With hospitalizations growing at a tremendous rate I think he was trying to look ahead. This is why the Federal government responded with the hospital ship because at the rate hospitalizations were growing at the time they needed to be prepared. Ultimately mitigation techniques worked and beds weren't needed as New York got a handle on things. Hindsight is foresight and admitting that stable Covid patients didn't need to go to the nursing homes is an honest assessment.
That's the context and the rest of the story, but like you have accused the left media, people take a snippet and run with it.
People act like he deliberately wanted to murder old people.
Again if he's lying about things hold him accountable for that. There are some issues.
