President Biden thread

Published

Wow.  No one has started such a thread yet?

After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days,  apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.

Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week,  by the end of April.

Good for you for knowing that Biden is president.  Too bad you don't know that the president was willing to sign bipartisan and sweeping border/ immigration reform and Trump preferred the dumpster fire.

Enraged... hahaha

It's easy to slip into the ugly language of conservatives, it gets repeated so often we sort of get used to it.  It happens to everyone from time to time if we aren't very careful.

Too bad you know a bipartisan border bill wasn't necessary if Biden just enforced the laws already in place. And that it was really a bill to give more money to Ukraine so they can secure their borders but leave ours open and in a mess. Then when Republicans shot it down (as planned) they could defame them as not wanting to fix the border. But you do know that and are leaving out the other parts of the bill. It's a habit for democrats.

Do you think it's appropriate to call someone am illegal alien when they crossed the border illegally? Or is that too offensive?

Ugly language? Like inferring Trump supporters do not want want "brown people" as stated by another member? Who doesn't understand not all Mexicans are "brown" and not all Ukrainians are white?

Still waiting for a summary of the laws Biden is believed to be ignoring. Then you can explain how those laws would address the problems at the border better than the bipartisan bill killed by republicans.

Do you think only Mexicans are crossing at the southern border? Many of those seeking asylum (which is legal) are indigenous, from El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Guatemala, not to mention Haiti, all of which tend to be darker.

Oh sure... that House republican claim that serious laws are completely ignored at the peril of our national security.  Yawn. Like everything else that is political theater intended to make Biden's presidency look bad.  Mostly those Republicans look like clowns while they waste our money and time to butter Trump's bread.

You seem confused as to what might be included under a heading of "ugly language". So much ugliness and un-American language flies around Trump now that it's just confusing for his followers as to what is OK and what isn't.  That's a feature of groups heavily influenced by propaganda and liars...confusion.

Probably because they are actual refugees in the midst of an actual war?

Do you think all Ukrainians are not "brown"? This is what happens when all you see is color. Not all Ukrainians are white.

And not all Mexicans are "brown" to use your terminology.

What a sophomoric response.

I won't ask you to explain away Trump's remarks about *** countries, because you might try.

Pretty sure the current dumpsterfire at the border is under Biden.

And the democrats are enraged Biden called an illegal alien an illegal alien.

So that explains some things....

The people who called out Biden aren't running for president.  Illegals aren't even in the discussion of the border.  You're using a straw argument.  Border crossings are down.  Perhaps it is because Biden's diplomacy is working in getting Mexico to secure it's own southern border.  Trump fell onto the luck of Covid to get it closed, not any effort ls of his own.  As for calling the situation a dumpster fire.....how would you put it out?  If.it were easy to solve, it would  have been done.  My city is desperate for labor to do jobs Americans don't want.to do which increasingly seems to too hard.  The children of these immigrants will be our future professional class.

Let's not pretend we haven't discussed this before.

Detaining those who've entered illegally would be a start.

No and that's the point. Do you know not all Mexicans and central.Americans are "brown" or "dark brown"? Isnthere a specific color chart out there where MAGA decides who's too "brown" ?

In other words, you don't have a clue.

Nice display of complete ignorance around what your candidate actually says that keeps the right win by racists excited about his candidacy.  I rather imagine that ignorance is a practiced strategy for a good number of Trump's devoted supporters.

Well, bless your heart...

In the past, I've posted plenty of my own thoughts as well as links to articles on that topic.

Most recently about a month ago.  I don't see that you participated.

Here is a few pages of discussion:

I'll keep to myself thoughts on who does or doesn't "have a clue".
