Wow. No one has started such a thread yet?
After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days, apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.
Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week, by the end of April.

Are you and @nursej22 now going to criticize CNN for the same reasons you just did for Fox?
Yes, I will criticize CNN for using this woman's pain and frustration to hook viewers and get clicks.
When a president visits, things come to a halt for security reasons, so it makes sense to me that he not be there while they are still looking for bodies. Plus, to my recollection, access to that area of the island is fairly limited, so they would likely need to shut down the sole highway. I'm not sure if there is an airport other than Kahului that Air Force One could land at.

I think NYC should send some presents back to Texas. I'm not sure what it would be yet since I don't want it to hurt vulnerable people.

Nah. We should just tax the wealthy to fund these needs. And we should elect some people who are interested in governing and solving problems for We the People. Things like expansive immigration reform.

Just out of curiosity, is Texas one of those red states that takes more federal money than it pays in federal taxes? Gonna look it up as soon as I finish my CEUs.

During 2020, Texas received the third largest amount of federal aid, $68.2 billion. California ($116.0 billion) and New York ($79.2 billion) were first and second.
When you consider this as a percentage of the total state budget New York was 32nd, Texas was 34th, and California was 46th.
I believe this is based on 2020 data.

This source ranks federal aid to states as a percentage of their unique GDP. The citation is based upon 2017 data, but I have a hard time imagining that the economies of those states changed rather than the way the data is presented. Food for thought.

Well, that's never going to happen. The gene pool is too diluted now. We are now own worst problem.

It makes sense that states with the largest population gets the most in federal dollars.
Another way in looking at it how much you get for each dollar you pay.
For example apparently New Mexico pays 85 cents for every dollar it gets back making it the most dependent state. Minnesota pays $6.88 for each dollar it receives making it the least dependent on the Federal government.

What is the issue, that someone is posting his tweets or that there was a typo made?
The responses to that tweet are brain numbing

What I said in the post, but I'll repeat myself, she was whining about "where is the President?, we're part of America too, why are we forgotten?" and perhaps "whining" is a bit harsh. But really?
I didn't link the story because by the time I made the post it was off their homepage and I was to lazy to source it.
I know I sound cold-hearted, and I don't know her plight, but obviously she's coming from a place of pain and emotional distress and I'm only talking about the above, not her whining about her tremendous loss.
I will say that I agree asking for a statement about the rising death toll in Hawaii was really an unnecessary question but saying "no comment" was a bit lame. He could have said "thoughts and prayers" or "yeah it's awful". What did the reporter want him to say?
He has already made some statements about visiting.
Maybe the person felt forgotten and not part of the US because of this? Maybe it's a lame excuse? Maybe an earlier symbolic visit would have made her feel better? But I'm not getting how she's feeling forgotten or why this is considered newsworthy.
