President Biden thread

Published

Wow.  No one has started such a thread yet?

After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days,  apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.

Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week,  by the end of April.

Link to the opinions doesn't work, and have to register for the article.

I don't think I'll be registering, as The Guardian seems to be unreliable.

Imagine, the guy who defends citing The Epoch Times won't read The Guardian.  It's just too extreme and unreliable for him.  LOL

I tried to read it.  But no, I won't register for it based on the criteria you suggested I follow when critiquing news sources.

Its pretty simple.  The families want the truth of what happened and accountability.   They feel like they aren't getting it.

I agree with you in that it is making the administration look bad.  It is what it is.

In reading their comments, I don't get the sense they are being used or being put on display.  They obviously have things to say, things they want to know, and are there by choice.

Doubtful that coincidentally members of all thirteen families were Biden critics before this happened.

Perhaps they weren't all Biden critics before, but they have suffered a tremendous loss. I am willing to guess they have been encouraged to heap blame on the Commander in Chief.

I have no current ties with the military, but is it standard for families to get full briefings after a loss?  I remember other catastrophic losses from the past, but I don't recall hearings with families about wanting more details. Wasn't there some controversy during the last administration about interactions between the president and gold star families?

Fine with me. It was just so odd that one moment you would be defending citing the Epoch Times  and then the next worrying about someone else's citation.  Are you familiar with the Epoch Times religious group's symbol?

So many coincidences.

That may be the standard, but they don't believe they have received full briefings.   At least not the everything there is to know.  Have you actually read any of the articles?

Well, you're entitled to your guess.  I don't know what it's based on, or why it's so hard to believe these people can't think for themselves.  Not sure why it's hard for you to acknowledge the possibility that maybe Biden is deserving of blame.

I had no idea of this symbol although I know the ET is one  creepy organization.  My friends get it every day with the Orange County Register and it just happens to be free.  This is one method they use in their effort to manipulate as many people in this country as they can.  The are very insidious and my "friends" don't get how they are being tools to the Chinese.  Why don't the Republicans have hearings on them?  Oh, wait.  They aren't smart enough to take on the Chinese and it would sound hideously like Roger Ailes' plan when he started his empire to spread disinformation and hand out jobs to some extremely unqualified "reporters".  What a mess he made if us.

I see coincidences in the symbology.  It's so unfortunate that right wing political extremists appropriated that ancient symbol, isn't it?

Yes, I've read some articles. I read that one father was angry that Biden checked his watch. What could possibly be said to change that? In another article, about some sort of round table in California, a mom was upset that she was given incorrect info about how long her child lived after their injury. The story had been corrected, so what else would she need to know? Does she really feel better knowing her loved one suffered longer?

Two years is a long time to mourn. I hope these families have had some counseling. I'm not saying they aren't thinking for themselves, but after 2 years I would hope they could have moved through the pain.

I don't believe I ever said Biden didn't deserve blame. I do believe, the decision wasn't made without input from military experts. Do you?

We already know that a certain number of people will never recover from the loss of a child.  Perhaps this group of parents happen to over represent the above and why they were willing to participate publicly.  Others may recognize that this re-traumatization isn't healthy for them.

As I said to @chare, it's unfortunate that right wing political extremists appropriated that ancient symbol.  It's such a terrible coincidence that the media outlet elevates thinking favored by right wing political extremists.

In Germany, Epoch Times is publishing increasingly anti-immigrant and "replacement theory" stuff.  Some of that here too.
