Wow. No one has started such a thread yet?
After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days, apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.
Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week, by the end of April.

"You are a disgrace to this nation," the father continued. "You have no business having ultimate command over our military, and I regret not saying that to your face when I had the opportunity in Dover. I felt it more important to bite my tongue, but I also had more important things on my mind at that time, like receiving my son's lifeless body stateside."
"While I stood there on the tarmac watching you check your watch over and over again, all I wanted to do was shout out, 'It's 2 ----ing 30, ---hole.' But out of respect of the other grieving families, I bit my tongue once again. Well, as you can probably tell by now, I'm done biting my tongue. You, sir, stole their lives, their futures, their dreams and have ripped apart 13 families. You cannot even man up and admit that."
Gold Star dad calls out Biden as 'disgrace to this nation': 'I'm done biting my tongue'
What exactly was the purpose of this roundtable? It seems like it was carried out to put the Pentagon, military leadership, and the President in a bad light?
Is this somehow productive? Do the families get solace from being put on display like this?
The Afghanistan withdrawal was chaotic and too many lives were lost. I think this has been acknowledged repeatedly.

It's political theater using grieving families, yes, to score political points against Biden.

Its pretty simple. The families want the truth of what happened and accountability. They feel like they aren't getting it.
I agree with you in that it is making the administration look bad. It is what it is.
In reading their comments, I don't get the sense they are being used or being put on display. They obviously have things to say, things they want to know, and are there by choice.
Doubtful that coincidentally members of all thirteen families were Biden critics before this happened.
This is unfortunate.
QuoteThe Biden administration weakened regulations protecting millions of acres of wetlands on Tuesday, saying it had no choice after the supreme court sharply limited the federal government's jurisdiction over them.
The rule would require that wetlands be more clearly connected to other waters like oceans and rivers, a policy shift that departs from a half-century of federal rules governing the nation's waterways.
QuoteJustices boosted property rights over concerns about clean water in a May ruling in favor of an Idaho couple who sought to build a house near a lake. Chantell and Michael Sackett had objected when federal officials required them to get a permit before filling part of the property with rocks and soil.
The ruling was the second decision in as many years in which a conservative majority on the high court narrowed the reach of environmental regulations.

I found the last 20 pages most interesting. It's interesting that they are bickering over the correct usage and meaning of words.

Link to the opinions doesn't work, and have to register for the article.
I don't think I'll be registering, as The Guardian seems to be unreliable.

Unfortunate especially if you like clean groundwater, if there's even any left. Did you know that an ancient war tactic is fouling the enemy's wells?

What a coincidence.

I thought the responses were pretty typical and expected. Brain numbing is the baseline for partisan conservative response on social media in the era of Trump. IMV
