Wow. No one has started such a thread yet?
After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days, apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.
Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week, by the end of April.

As I said to @chare, it's unfortunate that right wing political extremists appropriated that ancient symbol. It's such a terrible coincidence that the media outlet elevates thinking favored by right wing political extremists.
In Germany, Epoch Times is publishing increasingly anti-immigrant and "replacement theory" stuff. Some of that here too.
Hmm, I thought you said this was the symbol of the Epoch Post?
And, I guess. You're appear to be a better expert on right wing extremists than me.

I asked @toomuchbaloney to explain what coincidences he saw in the Falun Gong using a swastika in their symbology. A symbol that has been used by Buddhists and Hindus for millenia. A question he chose not to answer.
Now you post this. What exactly are you asking?

I answered and I'll repeat. It's an ancient symbol appropriated by right wing political extremists, now used by a religious group that has a right wing media outlet called The Epoch Times. It's a sad coincidence.

The symbol of the religious group that owns the Epoch Times and uses it to spread right wing extremism.
I read quite a bit. We all should pay attention to the rise in right wing extremism and learn how to identify it.

I am asking: What kind of organization in the year 2023 would attach a swastika to their identity? Who cares what people thought of it in ancient Norway or any other place apologists come up with, it's time to leave it alone. The only flags I've seen with swasikas recently (that I remember:) were at the insurrection. We should be aware how insidious this group is.

In fact, one cultural group, The Dineh (Navajo) renounced the use of their traditional rolling logs symbol because of the perpetual stain of nazism.

Not just "ancient Norway," as you suggest. The swastika is still an important symbol in Buddhism and is considered the foot print of Buddha.
Interestingly, the center of the swatikas used in Buddhism, are in the shape of a plus sign while the center of the swastika used by Nazi Germany is x shaped.
Should I presume, based on your discussion here, that you would be in favor of banning the cross after its defamation by the KKK?.

Who's talking about banning?
I think people who want to use a swastika should do so. That way we know who they are ... kinda like the bright colors on poison dart frogs or toxic caterpillars.
"The Washington Post's chief fact-checker Glenn Kessler took exception to several stories President Biden has repeatedly told about his life to connect with audiences in a piece Thursday."

Perhap banning was not the best choice of words, thank you. Considering that, I will rephrase my question to @subee and ask if she thinks Christians should "move on" from using the cross.

Considering Buddhism has use the swastika for millenia before Hitler bastardized it in his quest for proof of his Master race, who exactly do you think they are, or what they are showing?

Can you name a Buddhist who has used the symbol since WW2?
By "they", I mean neonazis, white supremacists and random subhumans addicted to owning the libs. They are showing their existential dread of anyone they don't control, as well as their will to kill or enslave them.
As for the cross ... if the criteria for avoiding certain symbols is its use to promote genocide, theft and slavery, then I'd say that those who use it might want to rethink their iconography. Maybe go back to the fish?
