Wow. No one has started such a thread yet?
After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days, apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.
Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week, by the end of April.
As the variant seems to be running course here in Florida I've stopped wearing my mask since I'm thrice vaccinated. But obey the rules when a mask is required by an establishment or work of course.
Biden violated the mask mandate and should show a better example. Plain and simple. You loose respect and credibility in preaching to others how to mitigate if you don't do it yourself.

Like Fox News is a reliable source! We know nothing about the details of this. Does the restaurant require vaccine passes? How close does one have to come to a table before removing a mask? This is just silliness. An hour ago one of their "reporters" had to delete the following tweet:
ox News anchor John Roberts deleted a tweet on Monday that suggested former Secretary of State Colin Powell's death from COVID-19 complications raises "new concerns" about the long-term efficacy of inoculation.
Powell's family announced his death in a statement that also said the 84-year-old had been fully vaccinated.
He also reportedly had been diagnosed from multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer that weakens the body's ability to protect against infections.
Roberts's deleted tweet said "the fact that Colin Powell died from a breakthrough COVID infection raises new concerns about how effective vaccines are long-term."
It was met with an immediate backlash online, where plenty of those responding noted that Powell's age and specific health history put him at a higher risk for COVID-19.
In a series of follow-up tweets, Roberts explained he'd deleted the tweet because it had been interpreted as being "anti-vax."
What a moron!

You can easily look up DC's mask mandate.
And, the article references the restaurant's website that states their mask policy.
You can easily see he is not wearing a mask, indoors.
John Robert's tweets are irrelevant.

Yes. Pelosi set a bad example. Newsome set a bad example. Here in Colorado the mayor of Denver pleaded in the media for people to not travel last Thanksgiving. Guess who got on a plane the next day to go visit family?
And, there are others.
Gosh, I love having a president who is so boring that him not wearing a mask is worthy of national coverage. Yes, he should be following local ordinances. I doubt that he is out in public places enough to remember to don a mask. Is there any video that show he was wearing a mask upon entering?
This is right up there with the tan suit and the coffee salute scandal.
Yawn.

Looks like maybe they did break the rules. It wasn't a wise choice...likely treating the walk thru as a photo op. Of course, in this case the entire world knows that that unmasked man and woman have received full vaccination, including boosters and are tested regularly and routinely...meaning that they represent no threat to the people in the restaurant.
It's understandable that Fox news would be consistent in their coverage of presidents behaving in what they consider to be reckless or hypocritical relative to covid spread. Right?
Wait, what? You mean this is an example of partisan reporting for the intention of fanning animus?

Have any Republican leaders set a bad example or does that only matter for Democrats?

I read about the story on Yahoo News which has a liberal slant.
A good deal of Republicans have lead by poor example to the detriment of America, however it matters because a lot of Democrats are behind mask mandates and mitigation, so when they break the rules it's news and hypocrisy. When Republicans break the rules it's protest against oppression.

He had his mask in his hand, so I think like TMB speculates, perhaps he took advantage for a photo op.

Would you agree that it matters most to the people who are not interested in mitigation through masking or vaccination? That's why the stories get published. Some folks are really titillated by that type of reporting.
The rest of us wear our masks and sometimes take them off in some settings. I had mine off in a mall last weekend for a few minutes.
The Biden's should have worn their masks knowing that this was just political ammunition for the right wing social wars.

I realize the question wasn't directed to me, but I will answer anyway. No, I don't agree that it matters most "to the people who are not interested in mitigation through masking or vaccination." He is the elected leader of this country, and I think it sets a bad example when he tells us we need to do these things, then he doesn't do so himself.
Having said this, I don't think it is the crime of the century that some are trying to make it.
