Wow. No one has started such a thread yet?
After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days, apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.
Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week, by the end of April.

Yes, you were. And this is far from the first time you've done this.

It's just hypocritical and ironic how republicans advocate for rights and freedoms and then voter suppress or restrict women's rights to health care or mandate mask wearing or vaccine legislation thereby increasing governmental oversight etc [emphasis added].
I'm sorry, who exactly is mandating masks and vaccine legislation?

The quote was that they are 'restricting' mandating masks and vaccination legislation. Republicans are restricting the ability of employers to mandate masks or vaccinations during a pandemic.

But it's not a schism between good or evil, it's between maybe good and maybe good. I don't think requiring ID is a problem with the large majority of Dems. But I did have a problem when a balloting box and multiple post office drop boxes were removed before the last election. I do have a problem when people Repubs bad mouthed voting by mail when our own president did it. I counted mail in votes (solicited ballots) and it is safe, safe, safe. But Repubs said otherwise. Repubs speak from a script and dems just argue about everything. But removing ballot boxes and drop off boxes seems Nazi-ish to me!
I don't know. I think that because mail in voting was so much greater than is was before. Allot of people because of covid participated. On such a large scale it was bound to have mistakes. I can tell you tho, I live in Canada and have US voting rights and I got 2 mail in ballots and one year my dad got 3. Proof of tampering? Not a chance and of course we only submitted one vote each. But what if we submitted more? I accept Biden as the rightfully elected president and I will respect him as such. I don't believe in conspiracies however there were a few strange things happening. Again, because the numbers were so close I think the results were correct.

Now, in some areas the Republican lawmakers have criminalized the act of sending an unsolicited mailed ballot application. It's a crime to even send an application for a mail in ballot if that application wasn't requested.
If you had submitted more the additional and unlawful votes would have triggered the authorities. You would have been contacted and potentially prosecuted.

Well good thing I didn't! We did solicit them. Mistakes happen, doesn't mean fraud. Or stolen election!!

That's not the thinking in many republican leaning districts or states today, hence the flurry of new legislation to limit mail in voting and other things that make voting easier. That lie about election fraud and voting irregularities is being employed to undermine free and fair election processes.
So Manchin is gumming up the works again!
Biden needs to rein him in. He has mucho skeletons especially re coal, oil and steel and I am certain huge conflicts of interest.
I don't see why Biden can't point the Justice dept in the direction and then when the companies baulk because you absolutely know that oil, coal and steel have lots to hide, appoint a trustee like a special prosecuter to provide some oversight. A distracted Manchin might just get the idea of who's boss and what the agenda is!

Were the ballots you received requested (that's why I put the word in)? In most states, the voters on the voting rolls received a request for a mail-in ballot. One person, one ballot. When the ballots are counted, the request form is in front of the counter's face so that signatures can be compared, and the phone number is also there in case you have any questions. Totally safe. There are a few states that actually mail out the actual ballots which I don't understand how they make that safe. But I voted the same way Trump did, even though he spent hours describing the system as fraudelent.
"The Democratic mayor of a Texas border town is pleading with the Biden administration to do more to stop the flood of migrants at the southern border at the same time the Department of Homeland Security Office of Inspector General found that the federal government's failure to test migrants for COVID-19 puts the health of Americans at great risk."

Is Abbott advocating for testing, masking, or vaccination mandates for immigrants?

Not that the Free Beacon would ever twist the truth, but the quote isn't accurate.
All migrants entering the US are tested for Covid. What the IG was referring to is that migrants who are detained and returned to Mexico are not tested for Covid, and to be honest I'm not sure that blanket testing people being turned away at the border is the best use of tests.
