Wow. No one has started such a thread yet?
After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days, apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.
Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week, by the end of April.

I have and will continue although that is unlikely to influence the beliefs of anyone who supports Trump's. And the evidence is still all around you. Just consider the number of conservative politicians who still make comments suggesting that there is some election irregularities that must be investigated. That's nonsense.

This source for instance;
QuoteA new Reuters/Ipsos poll finds that most Americans agree that former President Donald Trump was partly to blame for the Jan. 6th riot at the Capitol, and 61% agree that he should not run for president again in 2024. However, support for Trump among his Republican base remains strong as 55% of Republicans believe his 2020 election loss resulted from illegal voting or election rigging.

This preference to establish a narrative and belittle the truth, among republican politicians, is having disastrous results as it collides with a pandemic.
I also think that trumpistas are actually lazy and resentful people who are unwilling to do the work to better themselves and find it much easier to apportion blame to others.
They are also massive hypocrites with very little shame or care about their integrity, because they isolate themselves into pockets of criminals like themselves, so they don't have to face consequences or responsibility!
We are all sinners, all will be forgiven. Go to church every Sunday for a few hours and all the sins of the entire week will be forgiven. Send me a few dollars and you will be successful! Always willing to try a gimmick. It's why they are untrustworthy and inconsiderate people! Hypocrisy allows you to lie to yourself, so lying to you or me, is a piece of cake!

I think the Trump haters just assume, or are told by liberal media, that we just believe everything he says.

I believe Beerman was asking for the abundance of evidence that people believed he had the largest inauguration crowd of all time. Beerman didn't address the lie about the election because it's already been well established that people believe that Trump is the legitimate winner of the election.
My whole point about that is that it was the beginning "alternative facts" which I believe Conway coined when Spicer was claiming the crowd was the largest as well. So people did believe Trump when he said it. But I think when it was all washed out and the evidence presented people moved on to the next thing....and there was always a next thing. It got so bad people could barely keep up with one gaffe, misstatement, alternative fact and lie. LOL

Yes.
Beerman wants to create a very narrow and specific narrative about the willingness of Trump supporters to believe, accept or simply disregard the abundance of lies told by Trump to benefit himself financially or politically. That's how it works in conservative politics today. He's trying to promote the notion that the people who defend Trump don't believe Trump's lies. It's simply not credible. Trump supporters keep proving that they believe the nonsense with their votes, their actions relative to the pandemic or masks or current foreign policy, etc.

Beerman had a specific question about a specific post. To me there was no agenda other than to clarify what you said.

OK
I think the pattern of the comments reflects something a bit different. The argument about how many Trump voters believed that inaugural lie is semantic, intended to suggest that Trump supporters don't naively and enthusiastically accept Trump lies if it fits the larger narrative.
It's just not believable because the evidence says something else.

You're somewhat on track, in my view. I heard that at the time about the crowd, thought "eh, doubt it", and didn't really give it much thought. Who gives AF?
I'm a results oriented guy. I don't like the lies from either side. Much prefer Trump's results then how much less secure America has become in just the last two weeks just on one issue. Nevermindvthe catastrophes that's resulted from the last 8 months.

Oh yeah. National security. Trump's forte. Nothing has tarnished our national security as much as the covid epidemic which he actually promulgated with his nonsense. Because of the trillions (what's after trillions?) of money we have had to spend on Covid, that's trillions less for the army to invent their sexy weaspon, less money to pay for intelligence, less money to put people through school to study Chinese and Arabic. I feel so much more secure nestled in the loving arms of Saudi Arabia. Where do YOU think the Jihadists flying the planes came from?

Yep. The unprecedented lies and corruption of Trump don't matter. The inaugural lies are brushed off with the thought that it didn't matter and nobody really believed them anyway.
It does matter. The lies were believed. Many more, much more dangerous lies followed and where those lies lead is to January 6 and the reality that the republic remains in peril because of the lies.
