TEAS test...what's your experience?

Hello everyone!

I'm taking the TEAS test tomorrow morning, and I was just wondering what your experiences were with this test, and if you have any advice? I am particularly nervous about the science portion (chemistry). Also, how is the critical thinking portion? Any feedback will be appreciated!

If I get the version 5 study guide would it be good the ver.4 test (the reading, math, and english) portion?

hi leeya79

how many points did your score increase by retaking the teas? is it worth the money to retake?

thanks :) cari

I wondered that too Cari! I took the TEAS V and good a pretty good score (89.4%), but I am lacking A&P, which would give me extra points. I talked with the school I am applying to and they told me I was 0.2 points below the last level they took last go around. I am holding pretty close to a 4.0 GPA, but without the extra 4 points for A& it will be close. If I take the TEAS again they will take me last score, so if I don't do as well then I would be even worse off. Ahhhh, it is so stressful! I REALLY don't want to take the TEAS again if I don't have to!

Jenn, I feel the same! I just got done taking it and signing up to take it again sounds horrible! But worth it if it raises your score significantly. I think your score is great. I only got a 75, so I'm concerned. I ran out of time on some of the sections, so now that I'm aware of it I think I'll be better off. Hopefully we'll hear something back soon. :)

HI Cari

My score increase about 10%. Maybe I feel more comfortable in the second time. Also, there are some same questions as the first test, so I have enough time to finish the test. ( the first time I ran out of time in reading section). For me, it worth to retake because I can take the test twice per semester, and my school will consider the highest one. I hope It will give me better chance to get in.

Question for those who have taken the TEAS already, did you get the results right away? I guess since it's computer you can potentially get your score right away.

How does that work? Do they mail you score? or give it to you right away?

I took my TEAS V a week ago on computer. Once you finish the last section of the test, you submit and the program presents you with a PDF of your score report on the screen. My testing center did not allow us to print it out then and there, but I was able to go home and print it from my ATI account. So yes, I did see my scores right away. Scored in the 99th percentile, was very happy.

It also depends on the school. My school blocked that option because the nursing chairman likes to look through the results and after she has reviewed them then tehy are mailed to us.

You are a lawyer and haven taken the LSAT's no wonder the TEAS was easy. I bombed the TEAS but going for the GRE, oh well plan B, C and D are in effect.

I got my score right away. I think there are some places that make you take the test on paper (not computerized testing) and they have to wait, but if you are taking it on the ATI website you will get the results immediately.

LOL, yeah I guess you could think about it that way, I never did . The LSAT has no math or science whatsoever, and I scored below the median so you could say that it was my early sign to think about another career path (but did I listen? Noooooo) ... the best thing about law school in terms of the TEAS is that my reading comprehension was greatly enhanced!! Don't forget about the dreaded 2-day NY bar exam, which I took TWICE before I passed it. That experience alone empowers me to believe that I can tackle any freaking test!

i have read on this website that some have just retaken a portion of the teas....is that an option?
