  1. I just left their nurse residency - i was fortunate failed nclex and they released me from contract (never thought id be so happy to say i failed nclex! Ha) but the 4yr 8k contract is just to guarantee them a body for 4 yrs. you receive nothing out of it - no increase in pay, no bonus - nothing. Depending on where u work u may get acls, pals certified. But that is not worth 8k. The nurses that precept you get no extra funds for doing so because it is expected of them in Order to gain points to go up the nursing ladder. Good luck. As a new nurse grad dont settle.
  2. does anyone know where this question originated from? A client has chest pain rated at 8 on a 10 point visual analog scale. The 12-lead electrocardiogram reveals ST elevation in the inferior leads and Troponin levels are elevated. What is the highest priority for nursing management of this client at this time? [h=3]1. Monitor daily weights and urine output. 2. Permit unrestricted visitation by family and friends. 3. Provide client education on medications and diet. 4. Reduce pain and myocardial oxygen demand.[/h]trying to find rationale behind answer.
  3. I take comp predictor on wed and we were told 2013 Is all ati is administering. So you took the 2010? If u did take the 2010 That is good because the books we were given were all 2010 not 2013 books :/
  4. I am in my first semester. We are using the clinical calculations book by Kee & Marshall. We are required to get a 100% and we get 3 attempts. Here is my problem... They are NOT teaching us this stuff. It has been here is the book and good luck. I have no problems with math - over the summer I took 97 and 99 for refresher. However, this is conversions from mg to g etc. HELPPPPP
  5. We can do this! I begin in 2 weeks! Nervous as hell. BUT, this is what I want. At the age of 40 I can finally do what I have wanted to do the past 20 years but never thought I could! I can! You can! We can do this!

  9. my college only counts the pre-req classes for an adjusted GPA. I was the same way at 19 - i was pregnant and didnt really think about my future, but rather my daughters. Now I am 40 and having a difficult time b/c of those classes. the thing is - even I retake those classes for higher grades my university strikes that against me. so my grade is my grade
