UW Oshkosh Online Accelerated Program - May 2011
This is also my second time applying and I've heard that it does help your application. They see that you really want this specific program. It also helps if you have all your pre-reqs completed. And yes I had the phone interview a couple weeks ago. I think it went well! They said they hope to tell ppl they were accepted by early January. That's not too far away! Good luck you guys!!!

St. Kate's Post Bacc Program - Need advice!
Hey everyone, Wondering if there's anyone here who has been through the St. Kate's Post Bacc program or is applying there. I just applied. If you have been through it (or is currently in it), what is the time committment involved? I was told I could work and keep my job, but how many hours are you able to work? I guess I'm most concerned with the Nursing coursework. How difficult are the classes? Do you need to buy all of the books? So many questions I have. Any help will be appreciated! Can't wait to hear from any of you. Thanks so much! :heartbeatCari

reconsidering a nursing career
Hi Lola, I read your original post and I can definitely relate. It's scary to leave a familiar, stable 8-4 job. I am scared of the crazy hospital hours that nurses work. What did you end up doing? Are you in NS now? Good luck with whatever you decide! Cari

UW Oshkosh Online Accelerated Program - May 2011
Hi Kimbery, Your score is great! I'm sure you will have no problem getting in. The finances is a huge hurdle. It is definately the most expensive program I'm applying to - Are you applying anywhere else? I'm applying to another Accelerated program and 2 ASN programs. Sue said there will probably be a lot of re-applicants. She made it sound like most students apply more than once. I have to re-do everything (interviews, etc.) I'm sure the questions will differ than in the Fall because otherwise I'd have all the answers! She did suggest ways to improve my application. When I applied before I had one class left to finish (and my GPA is pretty average), so she said to do well in the class course and get a good TEAS score. Other than that everything is the same from last time. Spring does have less applicants so I'm sure that will be to our advantage! Do you remember any of the online interview questions? Last year they were like: what have you done to prepare etc and what stands you apart. I have my online in a few weeks. And yes, let's keep in touch! Cari

TEAS test...what's your experience?
Jenn, I feel the same! I just got done taking it and signing up to take it again sounds horrible! But worth it if it raises your score significantly. I think your score is great. I only got a 75, so I'm concerned. I ran out of time on some of the sections, so now that I'm aware of it I think I'll be better off. Hopefully we'll hear something back soon. :)

Any St Kates nursing student want to give me the heads up on what to expect.
Yes Dinah, you are awesome. It's hard to find someone who's been through the program and is willing to talk about it! Thanks for all the info on the different start dates. Do you have an opinion on which (day or evening cohort) is a better option? Also, Do you get to chose which one you want to be placed in? I'm thinking the evening cohort might be for me. I want to work during the day. What are the schedules like for both? For example, would the evening schedule be just a couple nights a week and then additional clinicals? I'm sure I will find more of this info out at the session. Thanks so so much for your help! Cari

What TEAS score did you get & did you get accepted in the nursing program?
I'm so nervous for the Teas…. Some of the material I haven't looked at in 10 years! EEk. Cari

Any St Kates nursing student want to give me the heads up on what to expect.
Thanks Dinah. I'm going to attend an information session next month so hopefully that'll help. I only have a 3.3 gpa but the advisor made it seem like I have good chances. I also have a B.A degree. I don't need to work during the program... but since I have pre-reqs etc. completed, I may only be nursing classes for a little over a year? Does that sound right? Thanks again for your response. :)

Any 1 starting St. Kates this Fall? Lets chat!!
Good luck Jeannai! I'm not in the program, but I'm thinking of applying. On the website it doesn't say anything about the 2year program being day or evening. Do you get this option? Also is it a full-time commitment when you're in? I would hope i'd still have time to work some. Specially because of all these loans. Thanks much! Cari.
